"Golden Girls" (sigh) ... the Geriatric precursor of "Sex and the City" and about million times funnier.

When Sophia walked in for her first scene and delivered her line, it was comedy gold for me, and I was hooked.

Dorothy: "Ma, what are you doing here?"
Sophia: "There was a fire at the home. Don't you know what fire alarms do to hearts that only beat a couple of times per week?"

The antagonistic angles that the characters had against each other and the performances by those actresses makes it one of the gold standards in television comedies. It was also one of the closest that America ever got to making a British comedy.

Without Golden Girls, there would not have been a Sex & The City or probably a Desperate Housewives (since DH's creator was a scriptwriter on GG).

You realize we are 8 pages in and just starting June right?

Last year at this time we were only 7 pages in.

It would be interesting to go back and count the diffence between actual posts about death and ones that were just comments.

I think it would be morbid and pedantic. As it happens, I am both plus overly self-deprecating.

43 deaths by 3 June 2009 received 54 comments. The most discussed deceased were David Carradine and Dave Arneson.

51 deaths by 5 June 2010 received 65 comments. The most discussed deceased were Carl Macek and Lech Kacyznski.
