I know an awful lot of people who got their start in gaming from that set. Sad If I had started gaming one year later I would have been one of them. It is the set I picked up for my brother when he was old enough to play. I think it fair to say that most of the game designers around today were influenced by the blue book in the red box.

Rest in peace, Mr. Holmes.

What a classy lady. The combination of her beauty, poise, charm and talent will be missed.

Or at least sprain his ankle at the Griffin house and be off it for a few days.

Edward Uhl.  He certainly is not a household name, but as a co-inventor of the bazooka, Mr. Uhl deserves a mention here.

Dom DeLuise died on May fourth, at 75. I remember him from a bunch of movies by Mel Brooks. My favorite though was his part in Loose Cannons.

One of the local pizza places around here had a photo signed by Mr. DeLuise, followed a few years later by a cartoon that the comic actor had drawn and signed. They got the photo when DeLuise came through town and ate there, I do not know how they got the cartoon, and since the Cheescake Pizza Place has been gone for years I will most likely never find out.

Goodnight Mr. DeLuise

*EDIT* Whoops, meant to put this in the 2009 listing.
