When I get involved in a game, I get the urge to run one also. It allows me to fill the gaps between the other GM responding to my posts! Smiley So, anyway, this is a 'are there enough people for another game?' query.

Basically I have no concept right at this moment, but admittedly my games are usually 'mysteries' (i.e. the overarching situation, or the bad guys evil plan) for the characters to discover, and they also tend more towards talking than combat. I also like to develop my games around the characters if possible.

So, without commitment (on your part), if you are semi-interested in joining another game, drop a reply and put up short paragraph describing a character you may be interested in playing. I'm looking more for who your character is than a game mechanics description.

Based on these responses, I'll put up a pitch if there's enough interest, and you can decide whether or not you want to join.

I'm sure there will be a million and one questions to such a general post as this, but ask away.

I'm always interested, I don't suppose you'd want supernatural characters as I've been itching to play with OotS or Spellbound.

Assuming not...
Christian Phillips (Lawman/Thug, heavy on chance feats), Christian is a cop at the bottom of his game, all he wanted to do was help folks, but he keeps ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time - when he's assigned to a case people end up dead - while never his fault his superiors have started assigning him partners who they're trying to scare out of the business or those who are two corrupt to deal with and they all end up dead or gone, and it's never Christians fault. Sometimes within days other times within years.
As a result of this he suffers from depression and alcoholism with bouts of martyrdom and a heavy dose of surliness.

I am interested in joining a game, depending on exact genre. I'm really enjoying most of the games on here.

Well, my genres are pretty much limited to modern/near future and sci-fi. I'm probably going to steer away from sci-fi for now, just because I don't want to do a whole lot of work developing a setting and mechanics to suit the setting. Unfortunately for some of you, I also don't do supernatural, because it never made my reading list, and I therefor have little understanding of the genre.

So in short, whatever game it is will be modern / near future without supernatural elements.

I am toying with the idea of having anti-heros though, and the opposition being law and order. That's just an idea though, and I'm not sure I really want to go through with it.

My preference is often for modern / near future without supernatural elements.
And I have enjoyed a few anti-heros / against-the-law games I've played.

Unfortunately, running 1 game here and playing 1 game here is stretching my limit when combined with everything else on my plate.

I'll keep an eye on anything you start though.  Once I get my char finished for nezmaster's game and get in a posting rhythm for that I might be ok to join in yours with a backup-role character.  Alternatively my game is down to 2 active players - should that later slow down too much or bite the dust we could swap to playing your game while I try piece mine back together.

I'd definitely start planning for the game either way.  You may well get enough players now, if you don't I'm sure you would get enough if you tried a bit later.

Fair enough, hmmm opposing the law?

Okay what sort of opposing the law?
Oceans 11 type opposing the law (in a semi-goodnatured way)
Good people fighting against corrupt law
Proper hardened criminals

Oceans 11 is probably the closest, and it would probably be a heist type of setup if I did use an against the law concept. Your character is probably not such a good fit for that though.

Like Isaid, I like trying to build campaigns around characters, so I want to see a bit of what I get. At the moment, you've got the only character idea up.

I'm easy to change to fit concept, I like knowing a campaign concept first as it gives you something to build around and gives you the slightest of ideas of the GC style.

I'm interested.

Two concepts, depending on what sort of game you want to run.

Ocean's 11 type game
Concept: Wealthy day-trader who dabbles in safecracking and cat burgling, more as a thrill-seeking activity than to earn money.  A true gambler, this character almost lives off his own luck.
Classes: Intruder, perhaps some Faceman, possibly Fixer or Thief if you are allowing those.
Main Ability Scores: Dex and Cha
Main Skills: Athletics, Blend, Security, Sneak, Streetwise
Feat Possibilities: The Dice are Hot, Fortunate, Fortune Favors the Bold, Ghost Basics, Spider Basics, Card Shark, Silver Tongue

Traditional law-and-order mystery type game
Concept: A police desk sergeant with an abnormally keen interest in various conspiracy theories, bypassed many times for promotions in favor of the more mentally-stable.
Classes: Sleuth, maybe some Snoop
Main Ability Scores: Int and Wis
Main Skills: Analysis, Bureaucracy, Investigation, Resolve, Search, Streetwise
Feat Possibilities: Pack Rat, Personal Stash, Tool Shed, Diplomat, Government Contacts, Private Eye, Police Contacts, Examiner, Medical Contacts

I'm interested, but I can't even begin to think ofa  concept without thinking of what the concept is for, at least a vague idea..

For an Oceans 11 type game I think I'd like a "Communications Specialist"
"Operator"
Frederic Montgommery is a rich kid who likes his electronic toys, and in particular their ability to find out all sorts of juicy information. At 16 he'd wired his entire house to come back to his computer (& finding plenty of opportunity to blackmail his sister) once he started at work he was near untouchable because everyone suspected he knew something that made it too risky to fire him.
Criminal activities come naturally, as that's where the profit in information lies and thus he ends up as part of the team.
Classes: Snoop, with a possible dash of Hacker
Main Ability Scores: Int and Wis
Main Skills: Analysis, Computers, Electronics, Investigation, Notice, Science, Search.
Feat Possibilities: Bug Basics, Career Agent, Fence, Techie, Electronic Warrior, Concealed Carry

Okay, sounds like there's enough interest. I'm going to think this through better and try post something in the next two days.

Hoping this is gonna happen now. I've got an idea for the heist type game. A mastermind planner (cannon for almost all movies of this genre) I even have part of his background done. I just anxiously await campaign qualities/levels..and of course other specifics...
