I was wondering how the following are supposed to interact:

Lancer 1: Lifetime Companion: Animal Partner, may take the feat a second time
Priest 1: Path of Beasts I: Animal Partner
Priest 7: Path of Beasts IV: second Animal Partner, identical to first
Beastmaster 5: Exotic Partner II: may divide total XP value between 2 Animal Partners
Beastmaster 9: Exotic Partner III: may divide total XP value between 3 Animal Partners

My take would be:
Lifetime Companion receives the Primary XP value.
The 3 Animal partners (Animal Partner, Exotic Partner III) split one XP value
The additional Animal Partner (Beasts IV), can be identical to either Companion or one of the 3.

Is this correct?

Also, would the increased XP values and available types for Beastmaster apply to the Lifetime Companion?

Correct.

Yes. I would say the key is Beasts IV refers to the partner, rather than to the feat, thus "generating" only one critter.

Since the Companion comes from the Animal Partner feat, I would say yes.

Now you CAN play Dar from the Beastmaster - you can have Podo & Kodo (identical ferrets), a hawk, and a big cat Smiley

Well, he is THE Beastmaster, after all. Seriously, 4 extra characters - even critters, is a HUGE play advantage.

If he managed to get Pack Alpha II I bet it would be!  Evil

Just ask some of the mooks in that film if getting gnawed on by a black-dyed tiger wasn't worth the few extra levels.   Grin

And the eagle managed to make a flying grapple attack on a six-year old kid. Yikes!

Kodo and Podo had Misdirection Basics. Someone in that whole mess had Horde basics.
Dar+ K and P + Tiger (Ti -Dye) + Eagle = 10 opponents for numerical superiority.
Hence his uncanny reflexes and complete disdain for armor.

I love it when movies from childhood can be recreated within the rules.
