Of all the critters in the Elder Scrolls games, slaughterfish have probably killed me more often than any other beasties. Like moray eels, but less pleasant to be around.

Yet another conversion of an OGL creature from the DCC Blackdirge’s Dungeon Denizens:

The ground before you suddenly erupts in a geyser of blackened soil and ash. The debris does not fall to the earth, however; instead it hangs suspended in the air, a greasy, black cloud of palpable evil and unholy will. A frightful cacophony of screams arises from the floating mass, and it moves towards with you with definite, malignant purpose.

Ash Guardian (Large Spirit Undead Flyer — 112 XP): Str 10, Dex 15, Con 10, Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 14; SZ L (2×2, Reach 2); Spd 60 ft. flight; Init VI; Atk II; Def I; Res VI; Health VI; Comp III; Skills: Notice VI, Search V, Spellcasting VI; Spells: Death Knell, Ray of Enfeeblement, Doom*, Enervation*, Slay Living*, Fear*; Qualities: darkvision II, devour, feat (Combat Instincts, Iron Will, Night Fighting), nocturnal.
Attacks/Weapons: Slam II, Withering Caress (draining, attribute III; linked to attack Slam), Unnatural Aura (frightening III; aura 30ft. radius)

* OGL spells that I haven't translated to FC yet.

Yet another conversion of an OGL creature from the DCC Blackdirge’s Dungeon Denizens:

This undead creature appears as a humanoid being whose skin has been flayed off, revealing the sinew, organs, and muscles beneath.

Flayed Horror (Medium Undead Walker — 74 XP): Str 12, Dex 11, Con 10, Int 10, Wis 11, Cha 12; SZ M (1×1, Reach 1); Spd 30 ft. ground; Init IV; Atk IV; Def I; Res III; Health V; Comp I; Skills: Acrobatics IV, Blend VIII, Sneak VIII; Qualities: damage reduction 1, darkvision II, feat (Ghost Basics, Iron Will).
Attacks/Weapons: Claw I × 2, Flay* (draining, life III; linked to attack Claws)

* I haven't grasped how to convert the Flay Special Attack yet. Here's the OGL text:
Living creature’s struck by a flayed horror’s claw attack must make a Reflex save or have a strip of the skin peeled away. A failed saving throw imparts a –1 penalty to all attack rolls, ability checks, and skill checks from the intense pain. The penalties from multiple attacks are cumulative. The flayed horror receives 5 bonus hit points each time a saving throw is failed against its flay ability.

Add another 8 XP to add a Grade II stress damage attack to the Claw attack.

Add another 8 XP to add a Grade II stress damage attack to the Claw attack.

So you're suggesting straight "damage, stress II" instead of the "draining, life III" or additional to?

To replicate the feel of the ability, in addition to.

Okay ... so two Extraordinary Save attacks, both linked to the Claws by Supernatural Attack quality ...

Or should it be three? Draining, Attribute; Draining, Life and Damage, Stress; all linked to the Claws?

Single Save for all attacks or Save against each individually?

....banned action (Swim)......
I know it's stereotypical, but it's not logical.

Cat: Look, I don't f*cking care what is chasing us! I'm not jumping in the river!

If it really gets your knickers in a twist, drop it, it doesn't effect the XP.

Or get an Angora. Tongue (Angoras commonly have an odd, most uncatlike, idiosyncrasy - a goodly proportion like water. We had one that would hide in the bathroom until someone was in the tub, then jump in - going from big ball of fluff to skinny wet rat, purring as it left hairs in the water that would cling to every square inch of the bather.... So the villain's white angora familiar would have no problem with an aquatic getaway.)

Cat's might dislike getting wet, but they are very good swimmers.

Sorry if I offended, I just wondered at the logic behind the decision, seeing as how cats aren't completely incapable of the action if pushed.
