Neat. The only but is this...
Quote
"Once per combat an individual opponent may spend double the usual action die cost to have a critical hit or injury affect the symbiote instead of the character"

Mostly because one of the big advantages of the goa'ulds is that you cant hurt the symbiote (or separate from the host) without the use of some kind of special technology designed for such as thing. But overall, i really like the use of "personal lieutenant" for that...

Didn't long hair wrestler goa'uld (Cronus?) do the crush the symbiote trick a few times?  I thought he was just reaching inside of there and giving a good squeeze.

the reach in and squeeze method only works for Jaffa and lavals.

Basically, any sort of head or neck wound is going to mess up a hosted symbiote, and since the default assumption that any attack represents the best effort of the attacker to kill the target then you're likely to going to be aiming in that area to begin with. But it comes down to the fact that it's a game balance mechanic.

I had thought about making a couple of racial feats to handle larval and hosted symbiotes, but it struck me as an easier option to put the special rules with the symbiote and just rely on the standard contact and personal lieutenant rules

But is a game mechanic that doesn't represent properly the concept of the creature. If you add that to the mook quality, it seems that killing a Goa'uld and not the host is not so difficult, when in the whole series it has been shown time and time again that it can't be done. It's actually one of the main reason given for the goa'uld to take a host, for protection. If you want to kill the larvae, you have to kill the host first...

That works fine for jaffa, but not for the goa'uld /tokra...

In all cases except where advanced Tok'ra technology is used, removing a symbiote is fatal to the host (in the case of Jaffa, finding a replacement quick can save them). Killing the symbiote while within the host is instantly fatal, as Goa'uld blood is highly toxic.

Because instant death from any sort of injury and no manipulators is of course completely identical to a small danger with heightened resource investment and fully dextrous manipulators. Plus remember that PLs are special characters, thus affected quite differently by the mook quality.

And hosted goa'uld die quite easily if you shoot them in the right place -- aka, the head and shoulders.

But try the new version

In all cases except where advanced Tok'ra technology is used, removing a symbiote is fatal to the host (in the case of Jaffa, finding a replacement quick can save them). Killing the symbiote while within the host is instantly fatal, as Goa'uld blood is highly toxic.

Removing the symbiote is fatal because they kill the host out of spite.

New Quality
Serpentine: As Beast but the character lacks limbs of any sort. Its error range with Acrobatics and Athletics checks increases by 2, and its Size is considered 1 category smaller when squeezing into or through confined spaces.
     XP Cost: 0
     Origin Cost: -2

Simply because I like describing symbiotes as serpentine horrors rather than beast horrors.

Also, I've updated the Jaffa, tidying up the language, dropping symbiote sense since that's now part of the symbiote and will work by calling on it as a contact, and replacing encouragement with calling (bloodsworn, sweeper)

Clarification a Tokra go'auld can leave the host under her own steam without killing the host. I'm pretty sure this happened several times during SG1

True, it can also die in the host without killing the host - as happened when the Ashrak killed Jolenar [sp?] inside Carter.

Ok that was a bad example - Jacob refers to it in Season 9 [?] when he says that a Tok'ra can die inside their host without killing them but it requires an some kind of effort.  Sorry, it's be a little while since I watched the entire series.

I seem to recall that Jolinar sacrificed itself to save Sam, otherwise the weapon would've killed her too. It's been a while since I've seen that episode, so I could be mistaken.

This has got me hankering to see them again if I could find the time...

I believe all goa'uld could do that, the tok'ra were the only ones who made a habit of it.
