Just out of curiosity, how easy is it to convert an OGL adventure to FC??

I understand the conversion of monsters and NPCs to FC but what if you have an adventure that is labelled "4-6 characters of level 5-6"? Does the Threat Level remain the same?

It doesn't have to. Higher CR monsters will make meaner monsters by the conversion table, but the FC system lets you put them at any CR you want. YMMV, but I'd say you'd be pretty safe converting an OGL adventure to anywhere within +/- 5 TR of the original party level of the adventure, provided there weren't too many magic dependencies.

I'm doing some of this right now, and the monster stats are surprisingly easy--the conversion guidelines are great!

The real problem lies in scene pacing. Obviously, other OGL adventures aren't written by the scene, so figuring out where to break the scenes is the real challenge.

The Dungeon Crawl Classics line would seem to be the most appropriate plus any of the old AD&D mods too.

The beastly nightmarish Expedition To The Barrier Peaks!

That's a good one but there's also Crypt of the Devil Lich, Mysterious Tower, Lost Vault of Tsathzar Rho, Aerie of the Crow God, Vault of the Dragon Kings ... and my favourite Legends are Made, Not Born.

The original Ravenloft module (I6), White Plume Mountain, Lost Caverns of Tsojancth, Assassin's Knot, Tomb of Horrors, and of course Temple of Elemental Evil

Those are all awesome adventures!  I have two copies if Expedition to the Barrier Peaks because I lost one for a few years.  I'm working on converting an old Dungeon adventure called Dead of Night.   I have to get back into the whole NPC system for Crafty games.  Cool

DL1-DL14 (minus 5 and 10 which weren't adventures).

The entire T, A, G, D, Q series (the Temple led to the Slavers which led to the Giants which led to the Drow which led to the Abyss).

All of the S series.

The Desert of Desolation series: Pharaoh, Oasis of the White Palm, Lost Tomb of Martek. Pharaoh alone posits the best dungeon crawl setup EVAR! Those are far and away my favorite old AD&D modules (though I maintain a soft spot for Dungeonland).

I love that series!!!

Lost Tomb of Martek is amazing in its complexity yet very easy to follow.

I'd consider the nicely updated Margaret Weis Productions versions of those babies, still available from drivethrough rpg (they list it under Sovereign Press, though, for maximum confusion). Great stuff!

They do draw quite a bit on the other 3.5e DL products, though (IIRC).
