I slowly warming to Technology as a skill, but I'd still totally fold Astrogation under a Drive skill as a check Smiley.

Then it should be a subskill of Technology or Drive to work the navcomp, with said navigation computer being necessary gear.  Maybe some synergy for a technically inclined pilot?

What about a bonus from having an interest in Astronomy or Mathmatics?

You could treat astrogation like Spellcasting, with the navicomp functioning as a mage's pouch...

I have to vote against Spellcasting if for no other reason than you certainly can take 20 with your astrogation check.

How about a Craft focus?
