Q&A not helping.

In the combat chapter force damage is stated as effecting incorporeal targets and references the rules for the Incorporeal Condition which in part states:

Quote from: FC, pg 213, Incorporeal
The character cannot be harmed with physical attacks but is affected by force damage and other non-physical attacks as normal.
emphasis mine

Does this mean that force damage is non-physical?  If so, what does it do to corporeal characters?  One of the players - otherwise, known as my wife - in that other game likes magic missile and would be rather upset with it being a ghost-busting spell only.

While I am fully cognizant that I can house-rule this, I am wondering what the rules as written have to say.

Could swear we answered this somewhere already but the search is turning up nothing,

Force damage affects both physical and non-physical targets. It's one of its special characteristics.

Thank you for the quick response.  Should I assume that the damage done to corporeal characters is lethal then?

what about the other way around?
Are there any other damage types/sources that can affect incorporeal characters normally?

[edit what qualifies as a non-physical attack? Is it limited to just mind-affecting and whatnot?]

Nope. It's force. One of the critical distinctions with the Mastercraft system is that each attack may only inflict one type of damage and - barring GM-induced stress and/or subdual damage - no damage type may beget another.

We intentionally left this open so the GM can define other "non-physical attacks." We may also define some in future products.
