as i sit here on my bed with the monstrosity penned by monte cook by my side i can help but wonder should i even attempt this undertaking, i know in the end my own lazyness probably wont get me far, but what i do get done could be fun. though if it is possible i would like to try to get enough of it done to try to run a game pbp on these very boards of the campaign in the book. and so in the post that follow i will attempt to not break my brain as i try to convert the pages of a book that will probably get the better of me.

I have absolutely no interest in a Ptolus PbP, but I am converting the book for a home campaign. I'd love to split up the conversion effort -- shared misery and all that. Tongue I'm almost finished converting alignments (i.e. gods, with paths, ritual weapon, avatar, etc). Otherwise I haven't done much yet.

I am within a handful of days of a trans-Atlantic move, so I can't promise any real effort in the next couple weeks. Thereafter I'm separated from family for a couple months, so should be able to chunk away at this.

i think the toughest part will be races, they have some seriouslty overpowered races in that book. btw are we actually in the world that book is set in in the darkest hour pbp?

Um... sure. Smiley

I have been using my conversion work for the alignments. Other than that, there's nothing really setting-specific.

for now i only see 3 race that are strictly ptolis that need to be converted most others are covered, litorians, and 2 elf subraces, the cherubim elves and harrow elves, the later of which can be covered by a feat, the former needs to be done, mainly as i like a non traditional catperson, the problem i am running into is the fact they have 3 bonus attributes, strength, dexterity, and constitution. i realy dont like giving that many stat bumps especially for this system i am using thick hide to replace con, but what would make a good replacement for dex, or do you think it is really necessary?

I'll see if I can take a look during the next couple days, but time is pretty tight right now. I will have 12 or so hours of uninterrupted time over the Atlantic some time this weekend, though. Tongue

what i have so far,

litorian

+2 Strength: 3 pts

Thick Hide 2 - you are considered to be wearing partial armor that provides DR 2. It does not stack with other armor, if you gain Thick Hide from other sources it offers the highest DR + 1 per additional hide benefit. 1pt

Low Light Vision – you ignore the effects of dim and faint light 1pt

enhanced scent- Your scent range increments are equal to your Wis score x10 ft. You may always act during a surprise round. 2pts

Enlightened Skill, search – Your maximum  rank increases to your Career Level+5. Only the highest bonus from any enlightened ability may apply to each skill. 1pt

Iconic Classes – If your level in any base class is higher than your level in either captain or scout your starting AD decrease by 2 -1pt

Iconic Specialities – You gain your specialties bonus feat only if you’re an (pick 10 Specialties) i still need to pick these though ranger/druid will be amongst these -1

i think i am sitting at about 6 pts right now, and i am thinking about agile defense, this should help with the loss of dex as a stat boost, also what about the enhanced scent, best thing i could think of at the time, may come up with something better.
