Yeah, I know what Fantasy Craft is.

But how do I tell people who don't know in one paragraph? In a way that is not going to be the same thing as I would write for Pathfinder?

I'm planning on running it for a gameday next month, and need a short blurb (like 1 paragraph... 3-4 sentences tops.)

Yeah, I thought about putting the "Stakes, and raising them, etc." bit, but I'm not sure that's informative enough.

Fantasy Craft is an evolution of the OGL towards more versatility. It's kind of an enormous toolbox from which you can create almost everything. Some things will look familiar to you, but you'll also find a lot of new options! For you, players, you will have the possibility to create more customizable characters, to build unique magic items, to use tricks nobody else can do, to handle everything that you own but is not material - including contacts, favors and renown -, and even to cheat death!

(Optional: For me, poor fellas, I will be able to shift the tone of the game as often as I like: we will play heroic-epic D&D-like fantasy one day, and a gritty Conan the next, maybe a dip of L5R next week, but we'll try to come back to a violent Warhammer-like style soon enough. I will unleash hordes of challenging foes at you and the fight will still be interesting ... and if you're lucky, you'll survive. Trust me, you'll like it, but you'll hate me just as much.)

Stripping fantasy gaming down to what actually matters: you being a hero.

The RPG Pathfinder wishes it was.

(Someone had to say it Tongue)

Actually, the quote from the back of FC is a good starting point: 'Your dungeon. Your dragon. Your way.'

The RPG Pathfinder wishes it was.

On another board, someone said "The game 4e wishes it was." Wink

Anyways, I used a condensed bit of the book blurb.

The latter one I can subscribe to.

A pity that Don LaFontaine is dead, we could really use something along the lines of:

"In the world of Fantasy Roleplaying, there's a new contender..."

I like "A D20 fantasy game for everyone, whatever your taste is."  No need to compare to other product-there is no comparison.
