Question: How much would you be willing to contribute to the production of Fantasy Craft GM screen inserts?
Cool though it would surely be, I don't need one. I'll pass.
I've got 5 or 10 bucks I'd donate.
I'd happily donate 10 to 20 bucks for such awesomeness.
I'm in a position to donate more than 20 dollars, but less than 50.
I've got more than 50 bucks, and it's all yours if you can deliver me a GM screen that's full of win.

Some stipulations:

We'd be looking to commission art from Ben McSweeny.

Depending on what his commission rates are, this could take several forms:

1. Three separate pieces drawn from the existing FC stock, and colored by Ben

2. A three-piece set drawn from the existing FC stock, and colored by Ben (I'm thinking specifically about the three Species pieces in chapter 1.

3. An all-new three-piece "mural", super-awesome and full of win. (Like some of the D&D GM screens, or the old 7th Sea screen)

When you vote, please indicate your art preference, too (especially if you can think of an "option 4").

And finally, this should not be taken as any kind of "done deal" with regard to Mr. McSweeny. As far as I know, nobody's contacted him about this (though he sometimes cruises the boards, as I recall). But there's no reason to contact him at all if there's not the potential to raise some dough to pay his rates--homeboy's gotta eat, after all.

PS - Should this go far enough, there may be some concern over "who holds the money" or something like that. I think that's a bridge that can be crossed when we come to it, but my personal feelings are Pat/Alex, or a party to be named by them (and therefore pronounced trustworthy with the dough).

PPS - Times are tough all over, and I'd like to think we can handle a topic like this in a mature, responsible way. Nobody's gonna get judged here, I would hope.

I think that either option is a good one personally.

Preferences:  Mural, 3-set piece colored, 3 separate pieces

I'll probably have a little more money by the end of next month.

It would be cool, and I'll contribute, but art isn't my main criteria.

Thread locked. There are a number of issues with this effort we need to iron out before allowing it to proceed on our boards.

We appreciate your enthusiasm. Hang tight and we'll get the fine details knocked out.

Well, you guys got our attention. It's not how we'd prefer these things come together - if any of you have any more great BIG ideas for making our lines cool, especially if they involve money changing hands or huge, coordinated efforts like this - drop us a line. We can help. Really.

Back to the topic at hand, we're pulling something together to maybe, just maybe, make your dreams about a big, splashy Fantasy Craft GM Screen a reality. It'll take a bit to juggle and verify the numbers, and to make sure this stands the very best chance of happening, and we're in the middle of finalizing the Powered by Fantasy Craft and updated Powered by Spycraft licenses. So please afford us a week or so to work this out.

More soon.
