In 1999, WotC had a market research group do an extensive survey of RPG gamers in an attempt to better understand the RPG market.

Aww foo. I wanna take the test..but it's nowhere to be found.

I thought it was gonna be the old Champions Players type.
(Buddy, Builder, Combat Monster, Copier, Genre  Fiend, Mad Slasher, Mad Thinker, Plumber, Pro, Romantic, Rules Rapist, Showoff and Tragedian.

I'm a tragedian/Builder, with a little bit of Showoff thrown in when I don't behave.

As far as your chart..I think I'm probably near the very center, but almost on the vertical line, and a bit further down on it, somewhat below the horizontal line..(In other words, slightly story focused..balanced everywhere else..) BUt I'd love to see the test.

That's pretty interesting. Hummm.... I think I fall under "Character Actor," seeing as I enjoy both combat and story, and often makes character choices based on what would fit the character, not the game.

What a great find.  I sent this to all my players.  My wife (who plays) is looking at the socialogical (?) aspect of it.

I think that I am fairly close to the center, edging away from power gamer. Storytellerish maybe?

I don't know how the story ends...
But I do know what happens next.
