Akano was taught some of the ways of Jherbal Sag, a force of nature who could communicate with animals.

In that case, you may want him as a Priest, with Jherbal Sag having Path of Beasts as one of its paths.  If he took his Acolyte step as Path of Beasts I, he'd gain the Animal Partner feat.

Also, taking the Blessed feat would gain him the first step on another of the Paths available.

Hmmm, thats a good possibility. I think though I'll make keep him as a Scout and use the Druid spec to represent his mystic side for now. I think that should cover his totem animal too.

At some point in the future, he will receive more training in nature magic from a witch-woman, as a reward for a mission. I'll maybe multi-class to a Priest at that point and follow your suggestions. Thanks.

Regarding the Knight, I was wondering if he can have any sort of Subplot (or whatever) to represent a Code of Chivalry ??

You might look at alignments to cover a Code of Chivalry.  This would define a code of conduct and not be something that will expire in time (like a subplot would).  In addition, for taking the added restrictions, he would gain access to an Alignment Path.

Depending on the exact nature of the code, you may be able to use the Path of Order as is.  If nothing else, you can put together your own path, maybe Path of Chivalry or Path of Honor.

Ok, Bill, will investigate. Thanks. Heres the full Concept/History for the PC. (World background is obviously Robert E Howards Hyborian Age)

Alannus. Aquilonian Knight (Bit like Aragorn, Boromir, Lancelot)

Alannus was born the son of a nobleman in Aquilonia. As a young boy, Alannus was a keen reader and enjoyed stories of Knights and chivalry. He also loved to ride in the forest with his older brother Monago.

As he grew older, he had the chance to learn the skills of a Knight, a task he relished. He was taught to fight with sword and shield and learned some other skills useful at court. He continued his studies, learning of the history and geography of Aquilonia.

As a young man, Alannus served as in the Aquilonian army along the borders of the Pictish Wilderness. He defended some settlements against attacks by the Picts and returned home in honour.

By now, an adventurer called Conan had become King of Aquilonia. Alannus and Monago could see Conan would be a good king and swore allegiance to him. But their father, Leolinus, disliked  Conan as a commoner.

Then, a few years ago, during the Hour of the Dragon, Aquilonia was invaded by the Nemedians. The invaders were aided by an undead sorcerer called Xaltotun from the ancient empire of Acheron. The sorcerer defeated Conan and Conan was thought to be dead.

Leolinus sided with the Nemedians and the puppet king they put on the throne of Aquilonia. Dismayed at their fathers treachery, Alannus and Monago fled their castle and joined the last few rebels in hiding.

Then Conan returned with a magic weapon and an army to defeat Xalthotun and the Nemedians. The brothers fought in Conans army. Their father was killed by rebels and when Conan took back power, he let the family keep the Barony.

Now, having a strong Code of Honour, the young Knight Alannus feels it is his duty to clear the stain on his families name and is on a quest to do this. He seeks danger and adventure.

After fighting in border wars, he found himself in Zingara, as a mercenary seeking employment. He soon found it. He joined a group of adventurers and saved a noblewoman from a pack of ghouls and the horror they worshipped.

With his new friends, he began a journey back to his homeland.............

Lancer/Captain sounds just right for his martial skills and riding skils. I guess the Study (Interest ??) he gets free should cover his Knowledge of Aquilonias Geography and History ??

My pleasure, Pat. Job well done.

Working through this has also fired up my enthusiasm for fantasy again and I'm burning through my old Sword and Sorcery books like mad.

Yes, who needs Red Sonja now ?

You must have not seen the questionably-legal one at GenCon if you have to ask.

That is the least covering pair of panties I've seen anyone wear in public.  Shocked  Tongue

I had to turn off the Safe Search from Google.

At least she was wearing something underneath, unlike one of the Mongoose booth babes at GenCon '06.

I see why people were concerned about her age Shocked

I think Jim was actually after this photo, though. It's SFW, and she is wearing pants.

For you free starting Interests, I'd suggest the following: Aquilonia [Language], Aquilonias Geography/History [Study], Code of Honour [Alignment], and either Pictish Wildlands or Zingara [Study].

The chain mail Mongoose's booth babe is wearing looks familiar.  If its who I think it is, my gal has a bikini done by him, and I have a belt.
