It seems, to me anyway, that shortly after the Spellbound's were first introduced, they quickly became relegated to a "we're working on it" backburner kind of project.  I realise that there's a limited amount of time to do 'X' number of projects in but now that FantasyCraft is out, where the Spellbound's and Schools of Magic are quite prominently listed, are they getting pushed in any way towards the front of the schedule?

If I'm someone looking for a new fantasy game and I pick up FantasyCraft, from the tone of the book, I'm going to think that the Spellbounds are already out; and I'm going to be pretty disappointed if I go looking for them.  I'm going to be even more disappointed if I come to these forums and see that the section devoted to them hasn't seen a single post in over four months (as I type this).

I don't want to have to wait till next years GenCon to get what I thought was going to be last years project.  Even at the GenCon seminar the response to Spellbounds was along the lines of, "We're working on it - it's 80% done kind of sort of".  You guys also said that you could walk away from FanatsyCraft now and you'd be happy.  I could too except I wouldn't be happy.  I really like FantasyCraft but right now the game, if I want to use the Sorcery campaign quality (which I do), is unplayable because I want my Mages to be more than 1E AD&D magic-user rehashes.  Even 2E recognised the need to specialise magic 20 years ago (though the implementation and balance were atrocious).

Can I get an answer to: "What's up with the Spellbounds?", other than, "We're working on it."?

I believe that Spellbound (in full complement) is either just ahead of or just behind 10KB which puts it at #1 or #2 on the docket (as far as I can tell).

That would be very good news indeed.

Upon looking at my post again, I apologize if it comes across as overly ranty.  I haven't had a regular fantasy game since walking away from 4E (I've celebrated two birthdays since then) and especially as I grow older I find it more difficult to wait long periods of time for gaming products.  But that's not the fault of anyone here but me and I apologise again if my OP makes me sound like a jerk.

We're working on it.

Spellbounds are indeed on the burner, as the project has long since derailed and been backburnered for little projects like Fantasy Craft and so forth. With FC down, we were able to knock out a number of sticky wickets and clear a path for the rest of the line. Currently we have 2 releases in the editing hopper, but no particular date set for when they will be hitting the digital street. Suffice to say, with FC out or nearly out, the impetus to get the rest of these volumes out and then move on the printed Mastercraft edition of the book is much higher.
