If you take the Fast Proficiencies campaign quality, as written, it only grants you 1 extra proficiency at first level.
Fast Proficiencies (permanent): Each player character gains 1 bonus proficiency at Career
Level 1 and every 2 levels thereafter. This replaces the bonus
proficiencies on Table 1.4: Career Level (see page 27).
According to Table 1.4 Characters gain new proficiencies at Level 3 and every 2 levels thereafter, thus characters only gain 1 more proficiency total from having this campaign quality.
Whoops! We'll shift that to 1 new proficiency per Career Level in the errata.
Whoah! As a soldier or another high proficiency class, you'd end up with left over points, wouldn't you? After getting all the tricks and profs?
Not everyone makes it level 20 in their campaigns

<tease>On the plus side, once the Adventure Companion hits, you will have no trouble in finding tricks to buy with all those extra proficiencies... </tease>
