Look on the positive side.
You just got two copies for the price of one. When the binding fails, take it to Kinkos or wherever and get it spiral/comb bound with plastic covers. Velobinding or loose leaf are other options.
Yes, Mongoose has been very
good about replacing the books when the binding fails - I have no complaint in that regard.
They were taking a stab at doing all printing in house, and got burned in the process. Mongoose is hiring printing out again, having learned from this experiment. It is really too bad - some of what they were thinking of in regards to print-on-demand was actually pretty darned nifty.
