I'll second what Wolverine said.  I was fortunate enough to have him and Fish to shepherd me around when The Girl and I came up to GenCon last year.  By the end of the day, I could sort-of find where things were.

And after all that, it still took me till the Saturday to find the White Wolf booth. Not that it was a problem, just saying is all Wink

I have a flaky roommate for GenCon.  I should know soon if he flakes out of GenCon completely, in which case I'll let you know.

I've got to hit the Wolf's booth this time around.  Certain parties have asked for a copy of Changeling.

You're not the only one. I swear, with the Kiwi dollar as stong as it is currently, I'll be surprised if half the lewt I bring back with me isn't for other people.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll make sure to try and pick them up on the 15th for the tickets.  I am going to be buying a 4 day pass.

Be sure to buy extra generic tickets. They'll come in handy. Most events will let stragglers in with them.

I'll be at GenCon. I'm only running one Spycraft, and am playing in a WoF event.

I am slated to run a Saturday morning LSpy, but right now there are more GCs than slots for that slot. If it turns out they don't need me, I may run a second bout of my one-shot Spycraft.

If I could afford the flights, I'd be over at Gen Con Indy in a flash. The pound is so strong against the dollar it's unreal.

Of course, in the recent past, my lack of employment has been a bar to visiting. Now that I'm gainfully employed again, I might just be able to make it for 2008 Cheesy

Well if I'd have it my way, I'd rather give up going to GenCon, and move to England and get a job there lol.

[thread hijack]

Unless you're buying lots from the US, it isn't any cheaper to live over here (petrol/gas, for example, is almost £1/$2 a litre!)

Heh. Fuel is at least $2.50 US a gallon, and commonly $3.50. Expensive, but if what passes for my math serves me you're looking at about eight bucks a gal. Wow, that.

And that's just petrol Wink Wait until you want to buy a house (£110,000/$220,000 for a three-bedroom, mid-terraced house in an average area of Nottingham - a two-bedroom mid-terraced house in Stanmore (north of London - south of Watford) costs £200,000/$400,000!)

I now return you to your scheduled thread Wink

Gencon, its 1 week away.  My current status went from confident to  Sad.  Just found out a buddy of mine is dropping out due to school and money concerns and thats on top of another dropping out a few weeks ago.  So I am down 2 roomies and still have to find a place to stay on the cheap Wednesday night.  I really hope things dont get worse...I called the Hilton Garden Inn and they do not have my confirmation "Yet" so hopefully thats resolved tomorrow or soon.

Another thing to make me sad is my AC on my car failed and not sure if I will get it fixed before the con or not.  I really dont want to drive 160+ miles in 80-90 degree weather with no AC.

On other news to all you Crafty Fans that cant go to Gencon, I am going to record the Crafty Games Seminar and hopefully post it on YouTube or some other similar site.  I have a few cameras that I can pick from and secured some mics, although they seem to be less that spectacular atleast testing them with my computer.  I will do a dry run before the con though and let everyone know whats up when its done.

Thanks! A YouTube vid would be a huge help spreading the word!

Sounds great.  I know how hard it can be when people bail on you at the last minute. That happend to me last year and caused me not to go.  This year I got luck, hooked up with some strangers and will be sharing a room with 3 other blokes.  Hell 5 nights at a hotel across the street from the convention for 150 bucks tota. I have to say that's one hell of a deal.
