Krensky beat me to it.  That's just one tiny crop of the cover artwork seen here.  The rest of the book is designed with a monochrome printing in mind, and the artwork is done entirely in black and white.  Fantasycraft's product page has a healthy sampling, including the page borders so awesome I can't think of an appropriate word for them.  "Bonzers" came to mind for some reason, but I'd like to get a translation of an actual Australian before I apply that.

OK.  "Bonzers" it out then.  Still don't know what it means, but it's out. Sad

What, you've never had anyone play straight man before? ^_^

OK, back to the poster in question.

1) Honest to god first response: "But... But... It's the mage?"  Yes, I realize that makes me a Trekkie level fanboy.

2) You know, I hadn't noticed that we've got a little of the "Liefeld Pouch" going on.

3) Now that I mention it, fantasy adventure (particularly in 3.x) is one of the few genres where Liefeld Pouches make sense.  Any adventurer worth their salt wants easy access to their potions and other magical doo-dads, and a leatherworker in that world can probably make a nice living making the medieval equivalent of web gear.

Sure, but never a fish.  Wink

And I seem to recall massive piles of art with pouch bedecked adventurers, particularly spellcasters.

I'll say only one thing:

Page 6 in "Tome and Blood". Nebin the gnome wizard and his scrolls, wands, potions, familiar and a club.

Three words:

Gnomish Leather Armor.

It's in the 2ed Arms & Equipment Guide. Armor made of pouches.

I'm going to guess that someone snaked it from my Gallery on DeviantArt. There's a couple closeups there, and this is one of them. Not that it matters much, but I never thought of her as a Psionicist. If I had, I would have put more focus on her using some sort of mind power, rather than wielding a rod and making a funny gesture. Ask me and I'll tell you she's some sort of mage (hence the component pouches).

Still, don't think anyone's ever made a meme image out of my work before. I suppose I'm kinda flattered.

...hence the component pouches).

[smacks forehead]  Spell Components! Duh! Welcome to the character class!  Embarrassed

Can you tell I don't play casters?  Yeah, handing me the sheet of a wizard or cleric* is like putting Stevie Wonder behind the wheel of Ferrari.  The closest I get is sorcerers, and even then I need someone to cut up my spell selection into tiny little bites so my infant brain doesn't choke on them.

*(Assuming a vancian casting mechanic.)
