White Wolf also released a d20 version of Adventure! that might be a helpful first step tp converting ideas / mechanics.

And if you know where to look you can get both the d10 and d20 versions for almost nothing.

Yeah, it's a shame the Aeonverse died. One of my personal favourites...

You could also try a game called Noir, but it might be a little hard to find.

I actually ran a pulp Untouchables style game using SC 2.0 last year. I just mixed and matched campaign qualities, and it didn;t really need anything else doing. The Historic and Black and White qualities did a lot of the work.

Not half-cocked? Let me go further, there are books out there that try to bring Pulp to the player (Adventure! GURPS Cliffhangers) but they aren't it.
From what I have gleaned Adventure! was another WW book, with weird background history and a brass band.
GURPS Cliffhangers is a great book, but it doesn't inspire (I used it only to get some background info on countries and prices). In fact the book does not have a pulp feeling.

Spycraft has the benefit of being an universal carrier for almost every campaign idea. If you can think of it then SC can do it or will do it in time.
A SC Pulp! book/pdf could be just like the big brother:
-Contain rules for tweaking basic classes to use in the 20s/30s
-Ideas for "deadly deathtraps"®
-Present a slew of campaign ideas from classic adventure tales through criminal noir investigations to supernatural encounters
-Plus some random loot in form of new equipment

In fact almost every pdf out there for SC can be tied with this release. And that's something...

Back again.

Here' s a first shot at a Talent for Noble Savage type PCs (like Tarzan or the Phantom), raised in the jungle.

Savage

Life in the Wilderness is tough, but somehow you seem to have come through and even thrived.

•   +2 Con, -2 Int .  (1)
•   Acrobatics as a class skill, +5 result cap  (1.5)
•   You gain the low-light vision (0.5) and Improved Hearing NPC qualities. (2)
•   Base Speed 40’ (1.5)
•   You gain a +1 bonus to Initiative. This bonus increases by a further +1 at career level 4, 8, 12, 16 & 20. (2)
•   The disposition of any character that does not share your native culture and is aware of your Talent is reduced by 2 grades (-1.5)

I'll probably be using this Talent for the Mara PC. Combined with the Beastlord Speciality created by Wolverine at  http://www.crafty-games.com/node/127http:// , they make a good Jungle Lord PC.

Any thoughts ??

I like the idea in D20 Adventure !!! of a Psychic type of Pulp character, so I've adapted this Template to a SC Talent:

Psychic

You are gifted with strange powers of the mind.

•   +1 Int .  This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 7,and 14. (3)
•   Send/Receive Telepathic Messages to similar minds (1.5)
•   Gain single Psionic Power or Psionic Skill. (2.5)

(Examples are the Shadow, Chandu or Mandrake the Magician)

This should give a base for these types of PCs, adding more Psychic Skills and Feats later on. Good for my Count Zarnov PC.

I'm thinking of adapting the Superhuman Template in a similar way to cover physical marvels like Doc Savage.

Also, from what I can see the Daring (or Skilled) type of character from Adventure would just use a normal Talent in SC to cover their natural abilities, esp:

Brainy (Eg Hans Zarkov, Abner Perry)
Burly (Eg Flash Gordon)
Daring (Eg Sky Captain and Biggles)
Privileged (Eg The Avenger)
Corn-Fed (Eg Renny or Smitty)
Strong (Eg Lothar, or an ex-circus strongman)

They could then choose a suitable speciality from the existing ones in the rulesbooks.  Some possiblilities are:

Serviceman (Any PC that served during World War One might have this)
Pilot (A flyer in WWI)
Gymnast (for ex-Circus acrobats)
Racer (for ex-Racing Drivers)
Sailor
Criminal
Playboy
Motorhead (for grease monkeys and mad inventors)

This should cover my Rip Rogan and Wrench McClusky PCs.

To Be Continued..........

Here's the Superhuman Talent:

Superhuman

Your physical and mental development are marvels to behold.

•   +2 Str, +2 Int, -2 Cha. (2.5)
•   You gain the low-light vision (0.5) and Improved Hearing NPC quality. (2)
•   Bonus Feat: Photographic Memory (2)

(Examples would be Doc Savage or Captain Future)

The superhumans development could be be rounded out by choosing the Test Subject speciality.  This would mirror the way in the pulps that heroes of this type are raised, in a scientific manner, to be the ultimate adventurers.

How would you efine the Phantom (the Ghost who Walks, not that Billy Zane thing).
I thought maybe Savage Spiritualist, with Explorer levels.

Sounds good, Baldur. I like the Spiritualist angle.

I thought about making him a Scout. He'd probably want Animal Partner to cover Devil, Hero and his Falcon.

Thinking about the him reminds me to come up with a Feat for pulp heroes HQs, like the Skull Cave , Shadows Sanctum and Doc Savages Fortress of Solitude.

Here's a Speciality for all those Two-fisted brawlers in waterfront dives:

Pugilist

You’re good with your fists and can take punishment as well as dishing it out.

•   Bonus Feat: Boxing Basics (1)
•   You gain the Unarmed Combat Proficiency (1)
•   You gain DR 1/-. This damage reduction increases by 1 at Levels 5, 10, 15, and 20. (4.5)

(Best pulp example I can think of is Robert E Howards Steve Sailor Steve Costigan)

Here's a Professional Gambler bit you can use in Pulp. I'll also be posting this in the Improvise thread.

Gambler Specialty
===================
You make your living in casinos.

1 pt: Bonus Feat: Card Shark
1 pt: Streetwise is always a class skill & the result cap is increased by 5.
1.5 pts: Gain Profession Skill Focus & Forte: Gambler
3.5 pts: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in Streetwise, you also gain an equal
number of ranks in Bluff. This may not increase Bluff beyond its maximum rank.
