Hello there. I just discovered that the "small" category is listed as costing 1.5 points on the wiki. This surprises me. I was under the impression that being smaller conveys no positive mechanical bonus?

It does. Better Defense and +4 bonus to most checks relying on senses opposed with Medium creatures (like Sneak or Prestidigitation).

(It does come with some significant penalties to carrying capacity, grappling and wounds, however.)

It seems my dream of giving Pechs talents will have to wait for a week or so.

That's so rad. Is there some central site for these high-five pix or something?

I just do a Google image search whenever you mention that the second printing is getting closer. I do know you can get this one on a t-shirt, though.

It's just that the setting I'm building has Halflings being one of the most prominent races on the continent, and exist as large minorities in almost every human society, making it quite questionable that the race would be as homogeneous as they are in the book. I hope to simply give them a couple of negative (since being small is apparently a good thing) attributes that help represent the the physical nature of every Halfling but ultimately cancel each other out, leaving the race at 0 points used. Then, I hope to use an idea I heard on here a while ago of treating the ability to pick a talent as a 7-point attribute, thus giving them the flexibility of humans while also allowing for their shortness.

There's probably going to be some road bumps, though.

You could make them into a species feat.  I did that for all my races I wanted to have Talents just because you don't have to get the feat to 0 points.

You may be on to something there. I need to check if there's guidelines for making splinter species' feats like that or not. Is there precedence for allowing splinter race feats to have the "reduce one of your attributes by two and get another species feat" clause? I wouldn't want Halfling's getting prevented access to other species feats.

In the document I use to point-cost them that option is only 0.  However I generally have them on feats that can't overlap (e.g. changing your lower body into a snake or centaur vs. the one that makes you aquatic).

Originally I was going to amend that option to include a "you can only do this once" clause.
