More importantly adding this movie recommended Black Sheep, which I had somehow forgotten entirely about after seeing the trailer. That went straight to spot number 1 in the que (and, conveniently, I just popped a movie in the mail today). Who doesn't have fun poking gentle fun at Wolvie and his Kiwi mates?

We watched the movie last night. Cheesy schlock, aware of its own state, and more fun for it. The best part: my two-year old running around the living room yelling "No sheep! No sheep!"

On a family road trip this last weekend we stopped in a store that had animal and cowboy toys (for sale) in a basket on the floor. Apparently, judging by the way he was playing with the toys, my 2-yr old has it firmly entrenched in his mind that sheep are gluttons for human flesh. I had to pat myself on the back for that. Thanks TM and Mr K,

I seem to remember Threshold but can't remember details. Will investigate.

Incidentally, Tales of Terror is almost always a good place for horror inspiration. Smiley

Just watched first 4 nights of the above Torchwood:Children of Earth. Excellent, gripping stuff by writer who relaunched Dr Who. Spooky children, alien abductions, secret government deals, sinister black ops hit squads  and a Lovecraftian horror in a glass tank.................

Worth watching !!!

Agreed, though it feels like a bit of a slow burner at first. One things start rolling, however, it is pretty full on.

Spot on, Wolvie.

I like the way they keep the monster hidden behind the clouds of toxic gases, just showing a glimpse of a claw (??) or whatever and blasts of that hideous screeching it makes. Your imagination fills in the rest.

As ThunderMonkey mentioned at the start of this thread, in Horror, show as littte as possible and leave it up to your audience to imagine the worst............

Was it bad ?? Actually after Googling it I remember it being a DR Who episode. And I see what you mean. Rubber fish suits abound.

Walter, have I ever told you that you are twisted?

Then again, you were The Janitor.

Using the character of Evo Shandor from Egon's description in Ghostbusters ought to be plenty scary.

Also, an excellent character class not to be overlooked is an Advocate.

Any word on a Pulp book? Alex? Pat?

Here's a good link for the horror game and I may use it myself from a pulp setting:

OK, I'm maxed out at the moment running an FC game but I couldn't let Halloween pass without some trick or treating, Crafty style.

So here's a Challenge !!! Come up with a really, really scary Thing that goes bump in the night for Halloween and stat him out in either FC or SC.

Any Takers ?. Enter Freely and of your own will. You have until the Full Moon rises, Ha hahaha haha.  Grin

And in the meantime, here's a few Halloween quotes to get you in the mood:

"My candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open..." -Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door."
- Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven.

Wanna see something really scary ? - Dan Aykroyd, Twilight Zone Movie

"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone."
— Shirley Jackson (The Haunting of Hill House)

"Listen to them, the Children of the Night. What music they make."  - Bram Stoker, Dracula

"Your gonna need a bigger boat" - Chef Brody, Jaws
