I just got off the phone with Barnes & Nobles.  I was calling because on there website it stated that they would have "Spycraft 2.0 Pocket Edition" in there stores by 3/28/09.  When I spoke with the bookseller, she could not find any info on the book.  I have also been checking the site and the info I use to see on the Barnes and Nobles site is no longer there.  I was told by the women that maybe the book is being delayed.  I want to to if this is true or is this just Barnes & Nobles screwing up.  If it's delayed that's fine with me,  I have my hard cover copy.  I just want to know who is delaying it if that is the case.

It's out.

Listed for sale on Mongoose's site, copies of it have been ween in FLGS (including, if I recall, one whose manager is hangs on these boards), Alliance lists it as available (according to my pusher), and on a number of flgs websites and mail order sites including Paizo.

B&N is lying to you (whether deliberately or not).

yeah I have seen it listed on mongoose as well.  I had probs getting the hard covered version of spycraft 2.0 as well,  they would never have it.  Like I said in another post,  it took me 2 years to get a copy of the hard cover from them lol.  I don't think the women was lying to me tho,  I was on the site before I called her, and it was gone!  All she told me was she could not get any other info on why it was on the site set for the 28th then it was gone from the site.  Believe me she tried her best to find out.  I was about to hang up after she said they didn't have it, then she was like "wait, let me look for more info for you"  she had me on the phone for like 15 minutes looking around for info,  so you can tell she wanted to help and find out why herself.  I hope they get it soon.  I don't like to order online if I don't need to.  I'm very impatient when it comes to waiting for things in the mail lol.  I just want to walk in a store and buy what I need and take it home that day lol.

Sounds like you went through the printing fracas.

Anyways, it's on the Paizo website.

Huh. I got nothin'. I'll ping Mongoose and see if they know what's going on but it sounds like a burp in the B&N system. Their inventories are managed by anonymous buyers on the East Coast, so folks in the store rarely know why they can't get a book. (I know - I used to manage one o' those joints.)

Sorry BTW for any delays you suffered through getting the core rules from Mongoose. We did indeed go through a few issues with printing but they're all sorted now and books are being shipped promptly from their online store.

(I get that you don't like online ordering, of course. Let me see what we can find out for you on the B&N front. In the meantime, have you tried any other outlets? Borders, perhaps?)

It sounds like in this particular case ordering online may be the faster route for you.

Yeah I think its a burp by B&N as well.  When it comes to the hard cover core rule book they don't even have pics up of the book when you look it up online.  It's been like that for about a year and a half now.  a few weeks ago when I found out about the the new pocket edition, I go to there site and I see they have a pic for the book and an isbn number and a due date.  I got so happy when I saw that, only to be let down today and find out they some how lost the info to the book,  again! lol.  I find the whole thing funny myself.  If I didn't already have a copy I would be pissed, but I have done this dance with B&N before so we will see what happens lol.

Hey don't worry about the delay man.  Those kinds of things happen sometimes.  The delay I had with the hard cover was maybe 15% due to the printing issue you guys had,  the other 85% was B&N not wanting to order the book for me to pick up lol.  Most of the timeb when I call and they don't have a book in stock that I want, they ask me right away would I like for them to order me a copy.  I been shopping there for like 9 years now, you would think they would see my name in the system and know I pick up my ordered books as soon as they are ready for pick up.  Oh well what can you do huh lol

The only other outlet I tried is a store I know of here called "The Complete Strategist" they sale everything table top games, from Dice to Books, maps, what ever you need,  they just never know what spycraft is when I call them lol.  I called them like like 2 weeks ago, the guy in the store told me to check back at a later date and they should have it this month.  They may have it by now.  I will give them another call in the morning.  The prob with them is that they don't use isbn numbers, so if you get a guy that's lazy and he dosent want to look for your book you are screwed.  The one guy I spoke to did find a copy of spycraft, but it was a 1.0 books.  So if they have a 1.0 book in there, they are bound to have a pocket edition by now I would think.  I will let you know if they have it when I call them.

yeah you maybe right.  I just got a copy of the core rule book with the better spine from mongoose and it only took about a week.  I got it last Saturday,  the hard cover I got from B&N had the messed up Square binding.

Which one?

If one of their locations is accessible, we might be able to find another location. I know the one clowe to me has a pile of 1.0 and 2.0, but they still have the POD second printing and no pocket.

I'm in Manhattan....  There is only one location I know of here, and that's on 33rd Street.  I think we only have 1 store location here.

Yes, the others are in PA, MA and VA. NYC is surprising low on game stores.

Neutral Ground closed in February...

Does anyone know if Forbidden Planet still carries games?

Heard back from Mongoose. It's apparently a B&N error. They're on it.
