Just picked up the Shooter's Guide.

One thing I notice is that the Gyrojet on the cover looks to have a wooden grip - the one I fired had untextured black plastic inserts instead. Looks like there was some variation, despite the short production run. (Or the wood got replaced somewhere in the ten to fifteen years between manufacture and my firing the weapon.)

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* Your description of the sound signature of the gyrojet is a lot closer than my 'dangerous cappuccino machine'. Tongue (*Schwoosh...BANG!*)

Despite a lightweight shell the bullet went quite deep into the wooden target. I do like being able to blame my lack of accuracy on the degradation of the rounds, too.  Grin

I'm pretty sure I've seen 'em on Gunbroker with both.  The only one currently listed appears to have black plastic, though.  And there's some ammo up, too, for the low, low price of $40/round.

Heh, and that one is much shinier than the one that I fired.  Cheesy

I am likely going to plonk some of these in the Fallout campaign that I now officially thinking about. Most likely it will be a shop game, sometime after I round off the 'really short Pathfinder campaign for kid's' that I have been running for about six months now.... (It was supposed to be three sessions, dang it!)

A minor piece of amusement - I recently started using the FOOK mod for Fallout 3.... Some of the guns that I have found have been pretty familiar. Smiley (No Gyrojet, yet, but I do have a Pancor Jackhammer.) Looks like SGII will feel right at home if and when I run my maybe Fallout game.

I'd need to do some research on them.  They're just so darn weird.

I want one of those shotguns.  Any idea where I can get the plans?  Who has a machine shop?

Who has a machine shop?

Complete with CNC lathes and machining centers, the whole nine yards.
Of course the shipping costs will kill you. And we can't built weapons.

Of course not weapons.  A barrel here, a trigger assembly there...

Thread, arise from the dead! Wink

Picked this one up over the weekend. Am wondering a bit about the Jackhammer - is it supposed to (not) have NFM (S/B/F)? Some weapon-person (or gun-bunny, if YOU prefer it) want to enlighten me? Smiley

The Jackhammer is a gas operated, fully automatic only shotgun, firing at 240 rounds/minute (4 rounds/second).

The shooter can control the rate of fire by varying how much he pulls the trigger.
This obviously requires some experience.

I see no selectors on any of the pictures I've come across.

Well, that's not what really was throwing me off, more the fact that it's grouped in the semiautomatic shotguns group (like the striker and caws), but has no firing mode notation whatsoever.

Of course, I should have waited to post until I'm on the computer with the pdf. If I'm still as out as a snowman after having rerereread the entry, I'll get back to the subject. Smiley

That is because there is only break-action, pump action and semi-automatic shotgun groups in Spycraft.
Even the autofire capable MPS Auto Assault 12 Machine Shotgun in This is My Gun (and Shadow Play) is placed in semi-automatic shotguns. And has NFM (S/B/F).

Yepp, that's the whole thing that's confusing me. If I'm reading the stats right, and I like to think I am, the Jackhammer currently fires ONLY in single-shot mode.
