That's in the book, the 1961 movie, and the 1981 BBC show.

Really? I don't remember that at all, and the movie was only on not 2 weeks ago.

On examination, I think you are correct, it isn't in the 1961 movie.
It is part of the book and the 1981 TV series, however.

Never had a chance to read the book, and I only caught one of the later episodes of the TV series on its first airing -- gave me nightmares for ages.

You can read it online (yuck!) for You used to be able to download it too - but since Platinum picked up Wowio they don't have nearly as many free titles as they used to.
