This will be the future home of a series of posts about my home game. The players have just joined the DGP. The game will start with them going on their first mission after having just joined the Project. This will  evolve essentially into an ensemble TV show, including theme music (?? off of the ?? soundtrack), profile pics of the cast, and biographies (requirement of character creation in my games -- 2+ full pages single spaced gives them a bonus feat). Subplots (maybe), Stress Damage, and R&R.

Full Season campaign qualities: Faction, Gritty, Mercenary, Quality of Life, Small Screen and Stockpile.

The setting: Dimension Gate Project [a cross between Stargate & Sliders, the team(s) will be jumping dimensions not spatial divides]

Character Creation: All agents start at 4th level with a 32 point buy and no stat above 18 (after Origins). All agents should know at least one other person on the team to start. Required roles on team to be filled: Team Commander,  Intelligence/Communications, Cultural/Linguistic, Weapons and Medical (roles not filled will be supplemented by NPCs). The first two roles are required to be military officers.

Subplots must be cleared with me first.

Base Classes (currently): Advocate, Explorer, Intruder, Martial Artist, Pointman, Scientist, Scout, Soldier, Wheelman
Expert Classes (currently): Counter Terrorist, Edgemaster, Field Analyst, Grunt, Guide, Inventor, Medic, Schemer, Sniper, Stuntman, Tactician, Triggerman, Virtuoso

DGP: A UN sponsored program ... more to come.

Languages: Agents initially receive 1 language from each culture focus (becoming their Native Language) and new languages will be learned as in 1.0 with rolling on the Cultures skill. Two new skills are being made available Xeno-Cultures and Xeno-Languages.

Additional Character Options:
Talents from the Wiki: Calculating, Eager, Devoted, Insistant, Sneaky, Spartan, Spirited, Tough, Whimisical
Specialities from the Wiki: Arms Dealer, Battlerager, Government Agent, Gunslinger, Military Brat
Feats from Wiki: Skydiving Training, Subterrean Training
Specialities from Origin of Species: All but Seducer
I revamped The Maverick base class for use in my home game, The Quartermaster Expert Class is also available. I have copies of these classes.
Feats from Stargate Book (some slightly modified): Clockwork Tactics, Controlled Burst, Controlled Strafe, Intuitive Linguist, D-Gate Explorer, Promotion
Other Feats located on the Forums: Lash Basics (Melee), Flail Basics (Melee), Crane Style (Unarmed), Drunken Style (Unarmed), Eagle Style (Unarmed), Fluid Arts (Unarmed), Mantis Style (Unarmed), Master of Eight Steps (Unarmed), Monkey Style (Unarmed), Phoenix Style (Unarmed), Snake Style (Unarmed), Tiger Style (Unarmed), Extra Incentive (Style), Mark Your Calendar (Style), Zen Archer (Ranged), Fist Basics (Unarmed), Fist Moves (Unarmed)

Practice Makes Perfect pdf is available for Feats and Advanced Actions

More to follow....

D-Gate Project NPCs
============================

Base Commander: USAF General Bart Jackson
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duty Officer(s): Colonel Nathan Irongate (Canadian Air Force), Colonel Zoe Havercroft (RAF), Colonel Ilya Kirill (Russian Air Force), Colonel Chloe Lacroix (French Air Force), Colonel Fritz Lang (German Air Force)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chief Medical Officer: USAF Colonel Sarah Blackwell
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Base Main Rig Technician: Technical Sergeant Matthias Teschendorff (Swiss Army), Staff Sergeant Nigel Davies (Australian Air Force), Staff Sergeant Ian MacFayden (UK), Staff Sergeant Tiana Benitez (Spain)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This does not count the other DG teams of which there are currently 10. There was a first team but saying they suffered a disasterous first mission is an understatement and as such their team number, DG-1, is left alone in memoriam.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Met with Nebrog civilization; befriended Reis Greylik, a knight of the Nebrog, who escorted to meet his leader Nix Ganlen; negotiated barter of water filtration for opportunity to study religious site named Negorath as it may hold clues to other dimensions; makeshift temporary solution arrived at for water filtration system on local river; ate at banquet that night, Major Shatner got drunk & contracted a disease; next morning Major Richmond, Abe Nakamura, Staff Sgt Rosenthal and NPC Soldier headed to Negroath accompanied by Reis Greylik and local scout; attacked by wolves the size of Clydesdales and the scout was killed, Staff Sgt Rosenthal distinguished herself in stabbing a wolf and healing team members while under serious duress; arrived at Negorath, vieo documentation made of site, Major Richmond's computer was powersinked by the Negorath site; Team returned to Nebrog's town, collected the rest of team, went back through the gate;

During debriefing, it was suggested that the DG team devoted to Engineering set up a proper water filtration system for the Nebrog and all deciphering of symbols at Negorath continues at the DGP. As a result of actions & inactions taken, Major Shatner demoted from Team Commander position and Major Richmond promoted to Team Commander. Rod, Ashley, Alex, and Jay all gained to 5th level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episode 2: Viloran Bypass -- Rescue Reis Greylik, identify Vilora, and attempt both peacefully
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Major Richmond was ordered to stay behind to help examine powerloss of electronics in his computer plus future needs. Scientific & Engineering teams came under attack as DG-4 was about to enter gate, one member of Scientific team struck by crossbow bolt laced with poison; Staff Sgt Rosenthal set about prepping the team against the poison in general as she was unable to identify it prior to departure (but Base Medical Officer was continuing to do so); Staff Sgt Kagan joined team; DG-4 enters through gate to Vilorans waiting for them, Abe Nakamura talks team out of ambush as Staff Sgt Kagan and NPC Soldier fall down crumbling cliffside in downpour into swamp at base of cliff; DG-4 taken to see Vilora; miscommunication leads to fight as she attempts to escape through back passage; team eventually prevails as the knockout or kill most of her guards, Vilora turns out to be a Gorgon and succumbs to blindness from a flashbang grenade as she is running down some stairs; Staff Sgt Kagan and NPC Soldier both go unconscious due to wounds but Staff Sgt Rosenthal heals them back up, Major Shatner and Abe Nakamura are poisoned during fight;

During debriefing, Major Shatner, acting as Team Commander due to Major Richmond remaining behind, formally requests Letters of Commendation for rest of team which are granted; Staff Sgt Rosenthal also receives the Israeli Army equivalent of the Silver Star; Team is introduced to Major Jean-Marc Richard of the French Air Force;

Team given 4 days off...

Major Richmond remains working on his power problem; Major Shatner spends first 3 of 4 days in the Infirmary and last day working with Tom Favreau on UAV operation; Major Richard talks the 4 days to get to know the rest of DG-4; Staff Sgt Rosenthal spends time analyzing the Gorgon poison to research an antidote and uses some medical contacts to help with the bloodwork plus aids the Base Medical Officer in the Infirmary; Staff Sgt Kagan cleans all the team's weapons and then aids Tom Favreau with UAV operation; NPC Soldier moved to another team; Abe Nakamura works on creating a written language for the Viloran and assists in Vilora's interrogation; Tom Favreau works on a UAV for scouting of Vilora's temple complex looking for Reis Greylik and other prisoners plus starts drawing up specs for a new 6-wheeled utility vehicle; ... Kevin gains 5th level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episode 2.5: Viloran disease spread (Webisode)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only 5 of the 7 members of the team showed up for an excursion. Major Richmond is still working on his power problem and Major Shatner "personal" disease flared up again so both were unavailable. They mission profile was to find out what disease was causing the Vilorans to have red pustules forming on the skin and in the process the disease was apparently growing their fingernails out to be more like claws.

Major Richard stated they should request for NBC suits Staff Sgt. Rosenthal thought it would be too much since they had been through the gate already several times. Riding the 6 wheeled vehicle, the team traveled 10km to the site of a large bonfire where rats scurried out of their way as they were confronted by Vilorans who had succumbed to the disease. [Insert the Fast Moving Zombies NPCs that had been posted elsewhere on these forums.] Sgt. Kagan and Major Richard (being this was also his first time through the gate) failed Will Save against the Fearsome zombies and jumped out of the vehicle to run away. [Richard rolled a total of 7 but declined to use Action Dice stating it would be appropriate since he had never traveld through the gate before while Kagan rolled a Natural 1.] Favreau decided to use the vehicle as a weapon trying to run over the zombies as Nakamura tossed flashbang and frag grenades to delay pursuit. Rosenthal did her best to heal the minor wounds that were received. During the course of the fighting, Rosenthal was bit and Kagan was bit as he was running away. Both failed their first Fort save suffering the permanent 1 point loss of both Strength and Constitution. They managed to get both Richard and Kagan back in the vehicle before heading back through the gate.

Once through they were met by D-Gate personnel in NBC gear, which set Richard off, and caused Nakamura to make the offhand comment about "No more officers", referring to the lack of appearance of both Richmond and Shatner since they had not really traveled through the gate much since their initial jaunt. Both Rosenthal and Kagan were quarantined then stuck in isolation in the Med Bay as the medical successfully fought off the second part of the contagion. The team was given 5 days off again so there would be a better chance of them being whole before the next time they ventured out.

The next game is not until January 3rd 2009 due to all sorts of holiday scheduling.

Regrettably, this thing went on hiatus in February and we just have never gotten it back together. It might be dead for good and in the meantime I've started converting my home game world over in anticipation of FC.

I'm attempting to jumpstart it back together in January 2010

Get a hold of me here... would be interested in the D-Gate game and could bring along another player as well.

Ashes to ashes,

Unfortunately, due to lack of overall player interest combined with real life, only one player was willing to consider returning to the game.

Tack on that my Monday night Serenity game GM is starting to get burnt out and they have now, with the upcoming film, asked me to run them through an A-Team style game starting in March, the D-Gate is on a more permanent hiatus than before.

I have 6 person table already getting ready to go. Once it has been going a while, I may post details of it but very much "A+ Team" since there are 6 of them. Just like the film it is going to be gritty and real with no camp except personalities.
