I've noted that there's been a lot of interest as of late in running campaigns based on pre-existing TV shows, movies and the characters within them. So, how about we dedicate a thread to statting up these various famous (and infamous) characters with the rules? Has this ever been done before?

That's pretty cool for generic NPCs, but I was thinking more along the line of the type of characters with heroic class career levels.

Concepts for different characters of various media have been proposed.  Sometimes threads have developed with different builds of the same character.  Anyone remember the Batman thread?  There have been threads about building "Ultimate" characters, as well.  If these are going to be used in games, you may want to build them as Special NPCs so that they will scale with the player characters.  Unless you think a concept can only be done through using actual classes.  I find class builds to be helpful in seeing how different classes and abilities can mesh.  This, in turn, helps me design competent Special NPCs.

Are there any particular characters you had in mind?

Hm...I was thinking specific, static detailed stats for each character based on the PC classes.

Not that having multiple sheets for the same character is bad, mind you: there is certaintly more than one version that could work for them.

As for the ones I was considering ->

Alonzo Harris from Training Day
Neil McCauley from Heat
Lt. A.K. Waters from Tears of the Sun
John Doe from Se7en
Andy from Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Yuri Orlov from Lord of War
Brill from Enemy of the State
Hans Gruber from Die Hard
Gordon Freeman from Half-Life
T-800 from Terminator 2
Xenomorph, Facehugger from Alien, Aliens

Admittedly the last two are more generic than specific, but, there you have it.

Xenomorph, Facehugger from Alien, Aliens

This one is available in the Wiki.  Specifically under Starbeast/NPCs.  Done by our Mister Anderson.

Any ideas on those other NPCs? I can't decide if Alonzo would have Faceman, Thug or Lawman levels (or a bit of each)  Huh?

I'd lean towards Lawman 5. He definitely uses the badge a few times. Then it's all about making him good in a seduction dramatic conflict. Not unbeatable, but very very good. I'd probably aim for the 8-11th level bracket over all. Possibly use Con Artist to fill in those levels after Lawman 5. Thug 2 or Thug 3 also make a certain amount of sense in terms of having a strong sense of association with his own trusted circle and general viciousness in combat.

On eof the things that helps in building up a movie-to-character addaptation is listing some of the key scenes or actions you want to be sure the character is able to accomplish in play.

That's a pretty good translation of Alonzo, Morgenstern

How about Harry Tasker from True Lies?
