While the others scouted the area, and set up the base camp, Elena went to work with the portable radar unit she had requisitioned, activating it and scanning the atmosphere for any unusual signals.

Has anyone seen the MALP from SG-1 Theta?

*check*

Alex heads up the dune towards Gunny after looking over the initial area, "Hey, see anything interesting?" I ask of Gunny as I head up the dune to get a better look of the area.

Gunny looks down as Alex comes up to him, standing from a crouch.  'Nope, clear and quiet.  For now.", says the Gunny with wry tone and smirk on his face.  "Anything of note around the gate?"

Madelyn is trying to focus on getting the camp set up, and being weirded out by being on another planet.

"Sir, camp is set, orders?"

John leans over the doctor gathering a sample. Blood, that’s usually not a good sign. So much for waiting around for favorable conditions to search in. He does some quick personnel file review and tactical planning in his head.

“Listen up people! It appears we have a few leads. So, Captain Gordon, I want you to take Kyran, Sgt. Malko, and Dr. Petrova and go check that trail to the east.”

John makes sure to look at everyone when calling their names.

“Sgt. Jaeger, Corp. Rourke, Dr. Drake. You’re with me. We’re heading south. I want everyone traveling light, incase were pulling injured people back with us. I know the UAV was out in that general direction too, and we may circle around to that area as well.”

John looks down to the french doctor in front of him.

“Dr. I want to everything you can tell me about this planet and what happened here.”

He quickly glances at the sky once more before finishing.

“Sgt. McGregor, Sgt. Hutchinson, Guard duty. Everyone, eyes and ears open, and I want check in every 20 minutes at least. Anyone have a problem, now is the time.”

SGT McGregor will make the most of his guard duty. He will take the time to find and set up ambush points for both (all?) paths coming back to the Stargate.

Gah, I'd forgotten to upload this image. This is what you guys see when you came through the gate. You've obviously arrived during the planet's night; the SG-1 team would appear to have arrived during the day.

You find nothing at all., though there is a degree of interference with the radar signal

Pierre considers for a moment, and decides questioning the decision wouldn't be for the best, "Would any doctors who brought equipment for measurments please leave it with me. " Meanwhile, he breaks out the microscope and start examine the minerals, moisture from the air, and the blood samples. He starts to question sending a forensic scientist here at all. But be would try to lend a hand. It's obvious someone had been hurt, maybe when they got closer, he'd be of help.
"I'll do my best. My specialty is crime scenes. I'm not even sure why I'm here, but I should be able to help with SOMETHING". He grumbles and gets to work.
