As for Green Martians...

To quote the Metal Gear series...

!
Shocked

Ahem. Simply gorgeous. Green men are just ogres with 4 arms and kewl swords, which makes them EVEN COOLER. One day...one day...when I get minis for at least one game I play painted (or sell a substantial portion of my backlog), it'll be time for me to invest. Thanks!

Angels(and their fallen cousins).
The Fae(seelie and unseelie).
Cat and Fox humanoids who are more like their animal halves than their human sides.
Shape shifters, and not just "were" but those that spend there lives between forms and trap

If I had to say what my favorite fantasy races were, it would be those.

One of the odd things that I find strangely honest about their website - the paint job on the Green Martian is not quite completed! Cheesy

Mostly done, and the part that is done is quited good, but the base is unfinished, and still has traces from the drybrushing done on the figure.

I have a tendency to squirrel ideas away until I can use them, Martians (both red and green) and Barsoom is one such area of the nut hatchery hollow tree.... Spycraft would suit Mr. Burroughs quite well I think.

The Auld Grump - bet you the Pixar version of John Carter does not have the red Martians in their proper attire....

I never told you guys this, but I did write the Burroughs estate a few years ago to see if there was a chance of licensing the Barsoom setting for an RPG. I was willing to pony up much of my own savings to make this happen - however, it never materialized.

That's not to say I haven't developed some of the relevant stuff, sans serial numbers, on my own...  Cool

Given there's meant to be a CoM movie coming out in the near - through Disney of all companies - they might be more interested this time around.

Cool.

One of the games I am running at GenCon this year other than Spycraft this year is D20 Mars.

I toyed with a conversion. For now, I don't have time, though. At any rate, I want to try their stunt mechanic out.

You seem to be missing Skaven/Rat-men from that wish-list, Morg Wink

I for one welcome my warped rodent overlords.

Heh - I had an over abundance of the Skaven that came in Warhammer Quest (I own three sets, for reasons most unclear) - I ended up using green stuff to give some of them big bushy tales - Squirrelven! (Fear us, we have come to steel your nuts! Err... wait that sounded wrong, somehow...  Shocked )

"Oots: Lost Worlds"

That is so going into the que.

Awesome! Now to try to convince you to do a pulp setting/toolkit to go along with it... Although I don't think you're ready for another Death Bus right now  Grin

No more death busses. PLEASE.

I'm halfway under the tire of "Death Bus VI: Destination: Empire City," and Pat's recently be run over by Death Buses V and IV, simultaneously and repeatedly.

I'd prefer to walk...if I could feel my legs.

Hmmm, I started thinking about why goblins are one of my favorite races - it took some thought, but I decided it was because of Charles Whitcomb Riley -
Little Orphant Annie
and
Nine Little Goblins.

George Macdonald's The Princess & the Goblin was another factor.

My liking dwarfs likely dates back to a book titled Paulus and the Acornmen. (The last time I looked for a copy of the book I found one on E-Bay... for $1,200. Sad The sad thing is that while I would not pay that much for the book it is also unlikely that I would sell it for that price either - I would keep it.)

Ogres are a bit more of a mystery to me.

The Auld Grump - is it a bad sign when books you read as a kid start showing up in the public domain?
*EDIT* Better looking pages for the links.

More Green Martians.

There are also some Red Martian warrior women, but as they are in proper costume I shall not display them here. Dejah would not feel under dressed.

When they were first introduced in the 1st Ed Monster Manual II, I remember quite liking the Thri-Keen.

When I first read Carter of Mars many years later, I found the resemblance between them and the Green Martians quite interesting.
