Favored Gear action dice

If you take the Favored Gear feat twice, can you use the action dice gained from one of them to spend on the other? For instance if you choose a caliber 1 for the first and a caliber 5 for the second in a caliber 3 mission, you gain 2 dice then lose 2 dice. Do the dice you lose have to be from your starting pool or can they come from the other instance of the feat?

The action dice lost come from your level-based AD, so no, you could not do this.  The AD gained can only be spent on the Favoured Gear, which kind of defeats the point of the penalty.
