But that's largely because Tina Turner, y'know, rules.

You, sir, are no friend of mine. Tongue

Tina's singing is great ... was never sure about her acting ability...

I always liked Shirley Bassey's vocals (Goldfinger, Thunderball) .. I would have loved for her to do the song.... I saw a concert clip of hers from two years ago online and she still has that voice.

Goldfinger is the classic Bond theme.

And Pat - i'm afraid i have to solidly disagree with you.  Undecided

"Master Blaster rules bartertown!" Wink

I'm not a big Tina Turner fan, but that movie, and even her role in it, rocked.

I also loved the movie Goldeneye, but the theme, *coff*.

I did like the theme for View to a Kill.

But, in deference to Pat, the original Dr. No theme is my ringtone.

Bah.  Tina Turner's cool, like that of Lawrence Fishburne, can be exposed to death-defying stunts (like the former's Thunderdome, or the latter's Event Horizon) and remain intact.  Some people just stay cool.

And Tina nevah, evah, did nuthin' nice...and easy.  Wink

Don't get me wrong - I love some of the "Bond' songs sung by men. I just don't think they belong over the opening reel of a Bond movie.  Wink

That's just my opinion of course. YMMV.

A friend described the theme as "Kebab music". I can't really comment on the accuracy, since I remember being forced to thoroughly rince my braing with Uberbyte's Sertraline on loop afterwards. And I'm not going to expose myself to it before I have to, in the theatre Smiley

Living Daylights by A-ha. Best. Theme. EVAH! I also felt that Timothy Dalton was closest to Fleming's Bond - charming, but utterly merciless. Then again, maybe that was me feeling better about seeing the back of Roger Moore.

Yes on all counts!

Last time I looked - and it was today - Tom Jones did the vocals on Thunderball Smiley

Casino Royal was the best Bond so far. I think it got everything right. Best theme (while a rock song, it still got some vibes from the old Bond themes and whipped Madonna's tune's ass), best actor for a Bond so far (I was very sceptical at first but gladly I was wrong) and although the poker game was a bit stretched the sheer brutality of the combat scenes was something I don't remember seeing in other movies. Sure, Bond had killed mercilessly in other movies, too, but all that bleeding and bruises etc. was just marvelous.

The new theme? I heard it once on the radio and after that time it feels pretty mediocre but then again, what can you expect from Alicia Keys? Actually I expected something even worse Tongue

I try to go and see the QoS with neutral attitude although the trailer looked pretty promising...

I've listened to it a few times back to back now and it's growing on me. It's not the best but it's also no-where near as bad as Madonna's attempt.

Sadly, it has yet to be hunted down and killed.

Possibly the worst Bond tune ever, frankly.

Agreed, it sucks, but then most Bond movie theme tracks do,
I think if Amy Winehouse could have done this it would have been a different matter,

the best movie related track (for me) was
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hnWrXh7sOME

Non Movie,
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=e3aI5AxebQo

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=p9mSliQDX9Y

But even the theme track for my Spycraft game would have been better than the Alicia Keys & Jack White track, (but then, almost anything would be better)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9Cfu9ojyCJw

its modern with an old fashioned vibe,

(I thought it fitting due to something Kapera wrote about, "P!**ing them of till they die")
