Yeah, no problem!  I was having a hard time remembering what was on what page, so I figured I'd just pull them all out now that they are basically awaiting being put onto a page, and having all the numbers figured out finally.  If you have a format for them once we're done with this, I'll be more than happy to do all the computing and what not too.

Once you get the set done we'll go in and do a quick editorial sweep, the goal being to produce a single PDF presenting the whole range in a uniform, easy-to-use format. I imagine there will be some back and forth at that stage to tighten them up and make final decisions on all the bits. As usual, any help you folks can offer is greatly appreciated.

Take a look.

Aw man, everyone is doing soldiers.  I was going for a more general purpose, with a little side of slightly unexpected.

Well, if we end up with 3 soldiers, we can always take a vote as to which seems the easiest and most well rounded.  Its no big deal, just post it up here, and we can take a peek.

Haven't been able to take a look yet, cause I can't download foreign files to my computer at work (lots of firewalls) so, could you take the formatting that Pat gave us (or use one of the already finished iconics since it already is in the correct format) and post them up here physically?  That way we can all take a look see and make suggestions.

How's the soldier coming?  Need any help?

To help with the formatting, I've taken Pat's layout and expanded it so you can just fill in the blanks.  to make something bold, you just click on the B button in the message toolbar, or put [ b ] [/ b ] around it *without the spaces*

Sorry this is a bit rough and ready, and it's not entirely complete as I was unsure about the parameters for the mission loadouts; and I'm going to add a bit more flavour but I wanted to get this out.
===========================
Soldier

Name: William "Bull" Hoynes

Age: 35        Height:    6'2"       Weight: 195 lbs (or 14 stone)

Distinguishing Characteristics: Unkempt ragged jeans, and worn all weather jacket sit on top of Hoynes muscular barrel chest. His short cropped messy hair frame a sun-worn leathered face, two deep penetrating brown eyes stare back at you.

Background: Hoyes joined the British Army at the age of 18, to escape the council estate, poverty and gangs that he'd seen ruin several of his friends lives. With an aptitude for both squad tactics and firearms he quickly rose to Company Sergeant, though his brusque manner didn't earn him many friends on the way. He served in several theatres including Afghanistan, Iraq and Northern Ireland; it was perhaps in these environments that hardened him further into the silent, strong willed man that could hold together a squad under fire, and lead a furious assault into enemy positions.

As for the mission gear, since he gets so little (or on occasion the character has specific items they can use in any situation) just figure out what would suit them best and give that to them.  Since Pat said give them what they need (because starter characters for cons dont necessarily need to be 100% accurate), if there is something they don't have access to, because their Mission gear isn't what it could be, go ahead and try to work it in anyways.  Just be sure to keep it reasonable.

As for the rest of him, he looks pretty good, although I'd suggest maybe breaking his SMG forte down into two different proficiencies.  (Mostly because I've never been a fan of the SMG category, and the fact that his autofire basics removes most of the usefulness of the SMGs by allowing them to be replaced by pistols or etc)

Also, he has 8 common item picks remaining (when you factor them, you also add in their mission common items)

For his mission gear I'd maybe suggest giving him an Assault Rifle, and Armor, and then use his personal picks to find other tools for him to use.  (especially because they will be cal III and thus allow you more diversity).  Maybe let him keep the pistol, but you can trade his raid jacket and CZ in for some other tools that could come in handy.
Gadgets are always fun, underbarrel shotguns (if you can afford it) could be amusing, weapon upgrades, and the like potentially as well.

Here goes the start of an explorer.  Originally went out to make a tomb raider-like character, only to find that the BAB was not high enough to take pretty much any of the feats I needed to pull it off.  This character's combat is based on running around like crazy and shooting/attacking on the run.   Otherwise, she's pretty standard Explorer fare what with the liking anthropology and such.  Will be working on the rest of this as the night goes on.  Imput as always greatly appreciated.

Explorer

Name: Thalia "Muse" Alecto

Age: 27           Height: 5ft. 3in.         Weight: 135lbs

Distinguishing Characteristics: Long Black hair done up in a stylish yet efficient bun.  Usually wears sturdy clothing designed for movement and endurance rather than fashion.

Background: Both of Thalia's parents were archeologists, so she had the unique opportunity to be raised on various digs across the globe.  Throughout her childhood adventures she met many people and made quick friends just about everywhere she went.  When she finally set out on her own, the name she built for herself quickly got her noticed by the Agency and she was brought on to serve with field teams as translator, local guide, and researcher.  Knowing people pretty much everywhere has its benefits as you can always call in favors should you need to...

Talent: Agile (Bonus to Ref, Acrobatics always class skill, +5 Speed)
Specialty: Outdoorsman

Str: 10
Dex: 18
Con: 12
Int: 12
Wis: 10
Cha: 14

Fort: 3
Ref: 5
Will: 3
Init: 8
Def: 15
BAB: +2

Feats:Survivalist, Talented (survivalist), Combat Mobility, Mobile Offense

Skills: Acrobatics, Athletics, Cultures, Drive, Investigation, Notice, Search, Survival (max ranks)

Focuses: Cultures: Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, Central America, Drive: Mounts Forte, Personal Ground, Rotary Wing,  Profession: Anthropology, Science: Engineering

Interests: Mythology, Music, Shopping

Class Abilities: All over the World, Connected, Bookworm I, Bonus feat

Weapon Profs: Handgun Forte, Tactical, Hurled, blunt, unarmed

Weath: Total: 9  L3, S1, P5
Mission Gear: 1S +2cha

Possessions:
1/III: Tilt Rotor Helicopter w/ Reduced passenger space in exchange for extra cargo
2/II: FN FiveseveN w/ Reworked Action II, Miniaturized Pipe Bomb x4 in Water Bottles
4/I: Melee Stun Gun, Moped (1 for each party member, if arctic mission then Snowmobile), Weapon Upgrades (laser sight, Precision I), Climbing Kit I

Potential Mission Gear Outs:
Combat Mission:
Tactical Jacket w/Personal Tailoring
Talley M72 LAW (x2)
Cal III EMP gadget in Makeup compact

Infiltration Mission
Grappling gun w/ Winch
Low Profile Armor (avg) w/ Nomex Underwear
Auto-Lockpick (Cal III Skill Check gadget (Security))

Social Mission
Low Profile Armor (avg) w/ Nomex Underwear
Cal III Bug suite (1x Tracer, 1x Audio, 1x Video)

Common Items: Handheld Metal Detector, Cellphone/PDA, Road Flares, Waterproof Matches, Duct Tape, Zipties x20, Entrenching Tool, MP3 player, Backpack

Assuming we plan to use the same set of characters for demos and campaign starters, it's probably best to keep it in line with the rules. I know this is a turnaround from some of my previous comments, but I think it'll save us work in the long run. Smiley

Well, all I was thinking was (for instance) a character who only gets say 1 security pick as his mission gear.

If the character has no use for it pre-gen, but is lacking say... a weapon he could be needing to be effective.  You could swap it one for one just for the purpose of the iconics.  That was my only thought on the matter.

I'd stick to the system limits for now. If you can't find a multi-purpose item to slot in for one of a character's picks, leave it "+1 [TYPE] pick."

Roger that.  Tweaked the Scout Iconic on the other thread to adjust for lack of usefulness/rules followingness.  He's better now.

Thanks for the comments on "Bull"; just a quickie what caliber are the mission picks to be at and are they just what the character gets or have we been granted extra?
