eve online may be one to look into, and the new star wars the old republic is looking good if mmos are your thing, not many multiplayer scifi games out there though.if you both play in the same house though both mass effect games though single player are great, you also have games like alpha protocol that while it did not get the best reviews was fun.

yea the mmos are fun, but lack some the in depth story i loved in mass effect. which i just started playing a few months ago finished 1 and just about done with 2 what an amazing game.

i'll look into some of those and see what they are like.

thanks

Then you should like Star Wars The Old Republic when it comes out this Holiday.  Its being done by Bioware.

How much of the content is two-player friendly, though? Based on the videos I've seen, it looks like there's a fair bit of solo content (especially the story missions).

You can solo alot of the game, but grouping with friends is definately the way to go.  And yes its a MMO, like a WoW.  But Bioware has said that each class has 200 hours of storyline to go through.   Plus the Flashpoint (4 char max) and Operations (8-16 chars).  It going to be based alot on KOTOR 1 and 2.  But not directly in that storyline, its set I think several years before those games.

Another one that's coming soon, is Guild Wars 2.  I've been watching the videos on that one, another one with alot of story.  A true MMO with a presistant world, vs the instanted world of Guild Wars.

You can't buy a copy online and have it shipped here?  I'm not sure if PCs have the same NTSC/PAL thing consoles do (one reason I'm seriously considering grabbing a US Xbox - new titles for $55 vs $120...).

Excuse the ignorance, I'm a console gamer and haven't played any MMOs since Everquest (the expansion with the Frogmen).

I think that would require someone in the US buying a copy and shipping it to you.  I recall WoW being able to figure out which of the three regions you were in, but I don't know that EA isn't doing something nasty like blocking Australian IP addresses from the service until it is live in their countries.  (It would be monumentally rude and stupid, but you never know.)

They could do it via IP, or they could just not accept non-US payment sources.

ahzad, have you tried Alpha Protocol? Not an MMO, I know, but a damned good game regardless. If you liked Mass Effect I'm fairly sure you'll like Alpha Protocol...

Never heard of alpha protocol. I'll be looking it up. I missed a lot of games over the years b/c I didn't play them for years. they always ate up to much of my time for prepping for my tabletop games. Last console I owned was a ps1, and last pc game I played with any regularity was neverwinter 1, and temple of elemental evil until about 2 years ago when I decided I needed a break from gming tabletop rpgs. Thanks to steam I'm discovering all kinds of stuff I missed.

The EA Store (now Origin) directs you to appropriate country/region store.  Angry

Looks like most stores ID your location and select their offerings and settings accordingly.
Something I'm not entirely too thrilled about.

Ahzad - Alpha Protocol is GREAT, and i'm notoriously picky. I've played it through, like, three times, and I NEVER do that.
