I get that there might be a better game 20 hours in but that's just madness.

I have to agree on this. It didn't stop me from finishing the game and quite enjoying the latter half, but good god was that game slow to build itself up. Admittedly I also agree that it is hands down my favourite battle system from the series. On the other hand while it boasts that it has a lot of game content after the story, I ended up walking away from it at that stage. If I had the patience for that sort of grindfest I would play mmorpgs.

I will say XII holds a "special" place in my heart. It remains the only non mmorpg FF that I've played which I haven't been able to finish. I couldn't get past the feeling that Vaan was nothing more than an observer to the events. It really turned me off the game as I felt he had no investment in the story and as a result neither did I.

I enjoy VI and IX the most of the games. VII is tricky as I didn't like Aerith. As a result I didn't feel much when she died, which does rob the game of some of its impact factor. Yet I liked the truth about Cloud. It was well played.

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.

my favorite square soft battle system had to be xenogears. and that would probably be the game from them i would most like to see with a new hd sheen to it.

I liked VII and I wanted to like VIII but found the plot to be hard work.

Do you play Bioware's more recent games, that require you to link to an account in order to access them?

I don't know why people would put up with that crap.

I would never buy a game that required something outside my control determine whether I can or cannot play the game (although the poster did say he didn't know about that condition).

By the way, does it say clearly on the box that it requires internet connection to Bioware to play the game?

It does say that on the front cover just above the ratings icon and "win/mac/dvd-rom/software" icon.  It says "internet connection required" in small font, but white on black.  The only thing smaller on the front cover is "content rated by" in the ratings icon.

This is why I generally stay off forums for video games.  90% of what goes on, isn't worth commenting on.  And I don't care to try and search for the other 10%.

i think it just requires an internet connection to install and play the first time. dragon age 1 did the same thing.

EA retracts draconian ban

"After being repeatedly told that he was intentionally locked out of his EA games because he broke the rules on the BioWare forum, and that this was in accordance to the Terms Of Service that he’d agreed to, this morning’s internet famous man, Arno, has just been told that it was in fact a mistake..."

S'yeah, I've spent the last 3 days playing Dragon Age 2 (instead of mouthing off at forums  Cheesy), and it's an excellent game, so far I prefer it over its predecessor.

This is the one game I am so stoked to play, I can't wait for it to be released.  I'm so bored with all the other MMOs out there.   And I believe Bioware will get it right.

Who all is interested in SW:  TOR?  I've started a guildto try and get everyone I know onto the same server.  If you're interested in your initial character battling for the Republic, hit up Ancient Resistance .

Please mention if you're from the  Crafty Board.

I am, but I was planning on going Bounty Hunter though.   I suppose I could do Smuggler instead.
