No. Gauss Rifle is one of the added items.

Installing the Operation: Anchorage was a major pain.

HotFix didn't work as my system has a different language set as a default.
I had to manually reset the registries  Angry.

Oh, and it also wiped out my saved games.

DLC News:

The Pitt will be released in early March.
Broken Steel will likely be released in April.

Mass Effect has a patch and a DLC pack coming (no confirmation).

Horrific pain in sensitive places.  I have some ideas for things to do to the guys who designed the Games for Windows - Live crud, some involve hot pokers.

Did that wipe your games?  Live puts saves in a new directory, you can copy your save over and not have to start again.

That's OK. I wasn't following the plot, just wandering around, exploring, killing zombies & super mutants.

With you on that MJ, you tie them down and I'll keep the irons warmed up.
Good to know, btw. I was many shades of enraged to find LIVE had eaten my old save. Very very not cool.

Excellent.

Live doesn't eat them, it just looks for them to be somewhere other than where the standalone keeps them.

Btw, has anyone else noticed that the game is much less stable after you've patched it?  (Forget about alt+tabbing out if you're running fullscreen.)

Square Enix agrees to buy Eidos

Based on the tender price of 32 pence (about $0.46 US) and that it cause the share price to double to 31 pence... it seems that the House of Croft has been down on it's luck recently.

It'll be interesting to see what Square Enix does with Eidos' properties, and what technology it uses in it's own properties.

That's fairly stunning. Of course, the way Eidos has been pissing away all their fairly amazing IP (I'll just point a finger at Deus Ex, but not really limited to it, is it?) has been equally stunning. Lots of interesting consolidation going on in the gaming industry...

Really not a bad bunch to scoop it up as well. Squenix is holds much that's near and dear, and I feel no shame in their handling.

I picked up my copy of Dawn of War II on Thursday and was vastly irritated to discover that pre-ordering required me to download 3.7GB from Steam.  Twice, 'cause it didn't work the first time.  My buddy who bought his copy on Friday had to reinstall Steam, but didn't need the huge download.  And I'm very annoyed that I need to sign into Games for Windows - Live every time I want to play.

Now that I'm done bitching about everything but the actual gameplay, the gameplay is smooth, the game gorgeous.  (I've got the graphics on medium, with 2GB RAM and a 7800GTX, I'm just barely on the recommended plateau.)  The opening missions are pretty short, about half an hour, and resource points are gone.

If time or money is an issue hold off for a couple months, but this is definitely an RTS to pick up.
