most of the real detractors are those who have played the resident evil series since the first, such as myself and loved it. it has devolved into a stupid action shooter and lost track of what made the series in the first place.
edit: dont get me wrong i understand a games need to evolve i am one of call of duty's greatest detractors for releasing the same game over and over again, but i feel that resident evil 4 was a good example of how that could be accomplished and still keep the series true to its self.

Resident Evil is one of those Franchises that suffers from Sacred Cow syndrome (see Diablo 3) So the love/hate doesn't surprise me at all

*sniff* And so passes Cpt. Hideo 'Doc' Ishikawa, one of the greats, the one who bagged all our captured aliens. He sacrificed himself to obtain a sectoid commander and thus the research potential into its psionic abilities.

And also in our memories is Cpt. Olabode 'Missionary' Farisani, our medic. He saved lives, only to fall himself. A muton from behind, brought down to a single hit point by Missionary's comrades. A tragic loss.

>.> Might be able to save them with a reload, especially tempted for Doc

So how's everyone else's XCOM game going?

Still awaiting Australian release.  Sad  Is it as awesome as everyone has been saying in the press?

Also, the Mechromancer for Borderlands is pretty amazing fun.  So that dulls the pain.

Not played for long yet, only about 3 missions in. It's even more fun than I expected. Been colour coding my guys according to class - which works better than renaming them all like I used to in the original.

Won't be able to pick it up for a little while yet, let alone play. Way too much going on at Crafty HQ. So it goes...

Hope you all have fun in the trenches!

So I went back and reloaded, didn't want to go on without them, and hey, got a Muton captive as well.

And now I just learned there's cheat codes to let you have Sid Meier and a few others as super soldiers. These guys (the devs) are great.

Let me just say this: I am taking a full day break to let my XBOX360 cool down.   Grin

Typically my download of XCom finishes just before I have to head to work for my weekend shifts... Don't. Think. I. Can. Wait. Any. Longer!

It shuts off achievements for that save game, so they knew what they were doing.

Oh, and Bullet Storm + HEAT Ammo = Jacked over Cyberdisc.   Smiley

Enjoying XCOM muchly.

Putting in a fair amount of time with Guild Wars 2. Lots of nice flourishes there.
