dragons dogma feels like it will not disappoint.

Indeed.  I just finished the demo myself and now my only concern about the game is that it's Capcom (who have gone on record saying that they are big fans of locking content out of the game to sell later).

That is beautiful.  The cynic in me reads the bit where they say "two man team" "pre-alpha" and "in game engine" for that footage and cries BS.  There's still a small part that hopes that it ends up as amazing as that clip.  As a puzzle game though it's gonna be extremely dependant on it's final mechanics.  Otherwise it might just end up as a really beautiful turd, which I hope isn't the case (I always wanna see smaller operations succeed - especially if they have real talent).

i realy wish some of these companies would make movies instead of games. especially when you know this will have a good deep story then if they screw up the mechanics the whole experience is ruined.but if they do not try to reinvent the wheel of adventure gaming they should be good. as far as the graphics go, if they are building off of an existing engine i could see that being in game footage.

Shinji Mikami has officially talked about his next project - Zwei.   You might recognise his name as the dude behind Resident Evil 1-4 and Killer7 (among others).  Zwei is gonna be a hard survival horror game - with emphasis on the horror (he said the player will need to "confront and overcome fear" in the game).

Not much info at this stage - it's been in development since 2010 with programming and development ramping up now (so don't expect it soon).  Still good to see - he's a talented guy and since this will be his new studios first production he is taking full creative control over it, to ensure it's a quality title (and without executive meddling from guys at Capcom either).

Here's some concept art that was released, it's just environmental so far, but very atmospheric.  Hopefully the gameplay supports the feel.

Dishonored In-Depth Preview.

To sum up (it's qutie deserving of it's "In-Depth" status):

Quote
It’s clear from this gameplay demo alone that the choice of Deus Ex, the abilities of System Shock (or BioShock to those not in tune with the roots of the franchise) and the art of Half Life 2 all meld together for what is shaping up to be a unique and gripping experience for 2012. The fact that Harvey Smith (Deus Ex, System Shock), Raphael Colantonio (Arx Fatalis) and Viktor Antonov (Half Life 2) are all on board for this amalgamation of games doesn’t come as a surprise then. What does is how original Dishonored feels despite all of these comparisons. If this isn’t on your radar, then slap it on there right now. This could be one of the year’s biggest new IPs and if it isn’t, we’ll eat our proverbial digital hats.

I can not wait.

I feel bad for triple posting, but I just saw both these things and had to share:
Prototype 2: Live Action Trailer.
The Walking Dead Episode 1 comes out tomorrow for Xbox Live Arcade (and I understand it's on PC and PSN now) - sorry Pat, I know I said I'd let you know what it's like but as an Australian that's not an option.  Motherfuckers.

Had me at Johnny Cash. 'Course the series is is the brainchild of a longtime friend, so I'm predisposed to dig it.

No worries. I broke down and picked up a season pass when they recently ran the PC edition pre-order promotion (chance to win a "walk-on double-death role"). Helps that it was cheap - the whole season was less than $25.

I do with they could have offered that deal on the X-Box, as that's where I'd prefer to play the game, but I know the limitations of different sales channels all too well.

P.S. Yes, the first episode has been "released" on the PC but no, I haven't had the chance to play yet. Apparently they had some unforeseen issues with the .exe release, so it's currently only available on Steam. I'm not using Steam much these days and really, I can't break away from work anyway, so it's for the best. I'll post my thoughts when I get the chance to give it a go.

That's weird - I have buddies who bought season passes for Gears 3 and CoD, and I myself got one for L.A. Noire.  I'm not in that style of sales, but you'd think that something would still be doable because it's kinda similar.  Still, looking forward to hearing how it is - if it's worth it I might see if I can bypass the regional restrictions (I've heard of people using foreign Xbox account for certain content that isn't released here before - might have to look into that) because I'm a huge Walking Dead fan.

Do the regional restrictions also apply to the PC version? As I understand it that's a standalone release, so it seems like it should work...

Speaking of the Walking Dead video game, Telltale just put out a new video, this time with gameplay footage...

Choice Matters

I'm really looking forward to playing through this. Hope I find the time for it soon.
