While I don't think EA is being quite as stupid as HBO, they may be a bit more dickish.  Having to log on every time I want to play alone has convinced me not to buy any more EA stuff for a while.

I'm not sure that SimCity needing to always be online is a two flipped tables offense, but it is guaranteeing I won't purchase the game.

It's one of the classic games I used to pass time when I was in some place that barely understood what electricity was.. nevermind broadband internet.  I was all excited to get my time passer back.. ..then.. well.. that.  Gah!

Something I hadn't considered that a mate told me about - she's actually had trouble playing Diablo 3 because she gets a "servers full" message.  The fact that someone else's problems can stop me playing a game puts it squarely into "no thanks" territory for me (unfortunately that includes Sim City - one of a handful of games that might have made me consider going dual-boot).

You know.. I read that... and realized High School was more than a decade ago.. instantly felt a little older.. lol.

As for Sletch.. yea.  Buddy of mine is playing.  He actually had to Queue to play his game solo.  "All Servers were full".

Got to love the "non-DRM" requirement to be logged into their servers to even play the Single Player game.  Blizzards servers aren't working and you can't play the game you bought at all.

And this is why I am not currently playing, nor likely to start playing in the near future, Diablo III.
THIS

Anyone want to join me for Torchlight II when it comes out?

As much as i want to play Diablo again the above and other issues mean it doesn't look like I'll be revisiting it again. So count me in for Torchlight II. I really enjoyed the first and the II is looking to be a lot of fun especially with the MP aspect.

I guess it is time to preorder Torchlight II.  (Which you can do through Steam.)

It's official, XCOM: EU will be released October 9.

Pre-order now to get the Guile haircut!

...No, seriously, getting the Guile haircut is a pre-order bonus.  Also a bit miffed that the Special Edition is PC only, but oh well...

I won't be taking a day off work to play, but I am blocking that weekend off from seeing anyone, and totally pre-ordering.

Well, I for one have been playing Diablo 3 happily since the day after launch (CE didn't get here until then) and am enjoying it very much.

I will also be playing Torchlight II, I played the first one for some time, never beat it though... I pre-ordered on Steam and gifted my extra copy to a friend of mine's kids. One thing TL2 will have over the D3 at this point though is that I will be able to play it with my dad, his computer can't run D3.

That and I really want to play an Engineer...
