C'mon now, Nids probably have a rediculous economy - built as they are for mass spam rush tactics. =]
The Orc build mechanics are their own warped confusion, and all that messes with a game that aspires to some kind of balance through all the stages of a battle. I can believe it took Relic this long just to get it right.

I believe I read somewhere in an interview that they felt the system did not 'do them justice' so they scrapped the tyranid expansion.  Although, there are a few mods out there that do a relatively ok job at accessing what information was stored on the discs and make them a usable race for solo missions at least.

Mmm... feeding tentacles Grin

What I'd love to see is a 40k FPS with that level of graphics. It wouldn't be too feasible when you consider the usually high mortality rate found in the setting, but it would be kewl.

It could be done if you played a terminator or something... just cause people die a lot doesn't mean you 'have' to die...

There are tons of options that would make an FPS awesome.

Apparently this image is an in-game screen shot of the 'Nids.

It looks a little too polished to me, but then it could just be a shot taken with all the graphics cranked to the max (and not the sort of thing you would see yourself unless your computer is cooled with liquid nitro ).

The colour scheme used id the one from hive fleet leviathan which is depicted in the C: Tyranids as very clean with crisp purple and clear bone dominating. The scheme from hive fleet kraken is more dirty and bestial with  shaded red and bone colour.

Also to blame are the lightning effects which remind me of the problems I had with Prince of Persia: TT.

The reqs will probably be insane, with 2 GB of memory a safe minimum.

I've been looking for an excuse to get more RAM and a new graphics card or two.

What I'd love to see is a 40k FPS with that level of graphics.

And hopefully gameplay better than Firewarrior.  Never played it myself, but I haven't heard many complements.

From what I've seen, it's not the gameplay that's the problem with Firewarrior, but rather the complete and total lack of continuity with the tabletop game. For example, you start with a standard issue Tau Pulse Rifle (Strength 5, AP 5), but you can later pick up an Imperial Guard Lasgun for an upgrade (Strength 3, AP -).... there's a break in logic there...
