I'm putting together a master index for Spycarft 2.0 (fan, not official). Someone please tell me if this work has already been done, as I need the product not the labor. Smiley

This is not currently anticipated to look anything at all like the excellent Spycraft 1.0 Master Index, though I suppose it's barely possible it could trend that direction with continued updates/tweaks.

Right now I've got an Excel workbook, with various tabs representing categories of information. These categories are currently:
  • Origins (talent/specialty)
  • Classes (base/expert/master; abbrev)
  • Class Abilities (class; 1st level)
  • Feats (category)
  • Feat Stances/Tricks/Actions/Benefits (type; feat)
  • Weapon Qualities (abbrev)
  • Damage Types
  • Conditions
  • Combat Actions/Tricks (type) [needs data entry]
  • NPC Qualities
  • Campaign Qualities
  • Products [the list of products whose rules are incorporated into the index]

I am only including official, published information -- Crafty teases/previews and fan-submitted information is not being included. The lists include product source and page number, but not rules information or color text. I also include some additional identifying information indicated parenthetically in the above list.

Question:
1) Other than gear (which I find tedious to enter), is there any other category of information you would like to see included in this index?
2) Other than rules or color text, is there any other information you would like to see in an existing category?

If someone else has the burning desire to enter gear into the index I'd be happy to accomodate that effort. I'd probably want to see the following columns: Item/Src/Pg/Category/Caliber/$Cost.

Walter

[EDIT: Updated Class Abilities.]
[EDIT: Updated Feat S/T/A/B and Combat A/T.]

Index is available here. [EDIT: I am no longer hosting the file. Check the Crafty Downloads page.]

If anyone would like to volunteer to input gear let me know.

This is nice. Mind if we host it on our Downloads page?

I think you swapped the column titles "page" and "1st level" on the class ability page.

I did, but only for some of the entries. I've already made that change, as well as a few other edits, and will post an update after this week -- I'm hoping for an official response to my class abbreviations question.

This is nice. Mind if we host it on our Downloads page?

That would be great. I recommend we wait another week or so to see if anybody would like to suggest additional information, or volunteer to input gear (or wait to see if I break down and enter it myself), and then post an updated version on the Downloads page.

Sweet. Send along a copy when it's ready.

Thanks!

A couple of notes: I think I'd prefer it if Origins were split up in Talents and Specialties instead of mixing them up, and maybe separate weapon upgrades into melee/hurled, ranged and explosives?

Anyways, I might be able to spare some afternoons entering gear into the spreadsheet. School's just beginning and I need to eyeball the schedule for how much free time I'll have on my hands, but the first couple of weeks are usually slow. I'll let you know by the end of tomorrow.

You could just slap an auto-filter on the list or sort it by that talented/specialty column.

I like combining Origins into one sheet, but will make it easier for folks to look at just Talents or Specialties. See below.

Great! Let me know.

Great idea! I'll throw some filters into the spreadsheets.

Antilles and I are teaming up to input the gear section. We'll probably have the thing banged out by the end of next weekend (which allows for a painlessly slow pace Tongue).

New version submitted to Pat for hosting. This contains all entries within each of the categories selected from every 2.0 product released to date -- a product list can be found in one of the tabs. The file has not been through any kind of QA/QC (my eyes were already bleeding from data entry).

Totals (includes duplicate entries in separate products)
Origins: 130
Classes: 57
Class Abilities: 584
Feats: 529
Feat Named Benefits: 185 (e.g. stances)
Gear: ~1,700 Shocked (varies slightly depending on how items are listed)
Weapon Qualities: 58
Damage Types: 19
Conditions: 52
Combat Actions/Tricks: 96
NPC Qualities: 117
Campaign Qualities: 91
Products: 16

Enjoy!

Antilles pointed out spells might be worth including. Even better, he offered to input the data. Smiley Next time a product containing spells is released (which I suspect will be the revised Channeler, and soon) I'll add that category.
