Well, there are prreumably still all the cameras inside the back of the truck. And probably the sentry pods themselves are transmitting feeds.

Nope. After all, they probably didn't intend for you to be loose at this point.

"Fine."
Dirk grumbles and without word, next hurtles himself through the barage of paintballs, to see what's on the other side. He tires to roll past them quickly, hoping to avoid the shots, just in case.

Quote from: GC
Are there any doors toward the front end of the cargo bay?

Just the standard entryway up to the cockpit.

Dirk suddenly charges forward in a banzai run, arms raised over his face. Sadly, its impressiveness is lost somewhat by no one else being able to see him do it. He breaks out past the truck's cub and the sentry pods open up on him -- phfut-fut-fut-fut! -- those little spheres audibly striking him even above the noise of the engines, pink and magenta droplets exploding all over the place. Still yelling, he lunges forward and slide to a halt against the front wall of the cargo hold, battered but safely out of the sentries' field of fire...

(click to show/hide)

"Yes!" he calls out. "I did it! I..." He trails off as he becomes aware of a miasma of smoke and steam starting to rise up in front of his eyes. Confused, he looks down and sees that bright innocuous paint sizzling through the lurid orange of his prison uniform. Before he can do more that realise what's happening, the acid starts to sear and dissolve his skin...

"... or maybe they are not laughing so much." chris looks around trying to figure out away out of this situation. he then starts eying the door and studying the layout of the planetrying to figure out a way to keep the door betweewn himself and both robots if he leaves from behind the truck.having considered that possibllity, he goes back into the truck and starts studying the areas the keys fell out of and starts looking for a lockiing mechanism.

"...I am completly without comment," Veronica says plainly in a voice small with wonder.
After a moment of silence.
"Acid...well, that I understand. No fratricide that way."
She perches on the tail of the transport.
"This is the kind of situation I could handle better with a few fine lines; Sam, it is your move."

Staring, first in surprise at the sudden charge across the room, and then on the dissolving fabric and rapidly spreading burns, the only word going through Andrew's mind was 'oh, balls.' Then, remembering that the treatment for nearly all chemical burns is some form of water rinsing, he starts looking for water, or any fluid for that matter.

The back of the plane is utterly devoid of anything that might be able to help Dirk. At a rough guess, the only readily available source of water is going to be in the truck's radiator.

The door is useable as a shield, but there are problems -- first off it's too wide to to clear the side of the truck without holding it at an angle. Second is that it doesn't have a lot by which it can be easily held., though you might be able to work up something with the legs chains. Lastly is the weight, which means that once again the job as catalyst of your escape comes down to the amazon.

Quickly discovering the lack of available water, Andrew turns to Mr. Fransisco with a look of urgency on his face.

"You need a hand? The faster we get those things out of comission and over to our hasty friend on the other side, the better. Acid can do a lot of damage over a short amount of time if not treated. I just hope there's water in the radiator..."

With that he climbs back into the truck and emerges with various chains and shackles.

Dirk rips off his suit as quickly as he can, feeling oddly alive despite his pain. Near naked he continues to the cockpit as he had planned getting away from the smoke and tattered clothes.

Dirk clambers to his feet, desperately clawing off his jumpsuit, kicking off his shoes, and ultimately sacrificing even his dignity in a depserate adrenaline fueled attempt to free himself from the corrosive touch of the liquid. But it's too late for him to escape completely unscated, for already it's evident that its churned its way through his skin into the deep red meat of his body, leaving craters that ooze fizzling runnels of blood, in places almost to the bone.

The others are still deep in the middle of trying to improvise a shield -- figuring out they can wrap the chains around the retractable lugs that let the door fall out in the first place -- as he half-clambers, half-crawls up the stairs to the cabin.
