Now I need to see if I can find the old The Saint radio plays - with Vincent Price as Simon Templar. Smiley

The Auld Grump, Price, as the good guy?! Smiley

I've got the Season 1/2 of The Saint TV.  I loved that show, I actually prefer Roger as Simon vs James.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Smiley

Moore's roguish enjoyment of life seemed to fit The Saint better than Bond. Bond was more of a thug - a blunt instrument brought in when M decided that somebody needed killin'. Connery could do both, making Bond a charming thug when he needed to be, but a thug underneath it all.

First time I saw Roger was as Beau Maverick in some old reruns before the VCR.

I liked some of the Saint stuff that I saw from the first season.

I read an article somewhere, that the author of The Saint books thought Roger's portrayal was closest to the literary character and the one he liked the most out of all the versions that were out there.  I still need to read the books yet.

Odd - I thought Dalton was closest to Fleming's Bond. People do disagree with me though.
