I've been running a campaign that originally started off as a conversion for dotHack. It ended up mugging various ideas from various other settings such as TRON and Get Backers. Only the bastardisation of dotHack remained once I started running it in it's second incarnation.

I have a 'digital realm' setting in my brain, but it's way down the que for getting attention. In the interim I have to recomend Fantasy Flight's Virtual. They did a fantastic job on that.

Yeah. I bought it after you recommended it on th old boards. It was part of the reason the campaign was relaunched in its second incarnation.

The setting underwent a rewrite, that cleaned up the setting and added the Global Network as another area to play, in addition to the Real World and the Game. The Global Network has been heavily influenced by Tron and Virtual. I second a recommendation to read Virtual if you want to run a digital world.

I've got Grimm and Redline from the same line, but Virtual didn't sound like something I could convince any of my players to try (then again I bought Grimm on the principle that only 1 or 2 of my players would like it)
It's a pretty nice polished range of settings.

I did run Resident Evil a while back, and it went really well. So well that it inspired one of the players to run the same campaign for another group.  Cool

My players weren't interested when I first pitched an idea for a tron style game a year back. So I had to drop the idea. But as we played the original MMORPG inspired campaign they sort of naturally lead into the question of could they go beyond the game and into the wider network. And I had read Virtual by that stage so we went for a new campaign that integrated the real world, the game and the network more cohesively than the first incarnation did. If you can sort of lead them around to it indirectly you might find yourself with them insisting you do it. I'm definately incorporating the Virtual idea into any Shatter punk games I run and maybe into C:S if I can pull it off, once they are out of course. *hint, hint. Morg*  Wink

Shatterpunk's going to be quite accepting of a virtual world sort of game...in fact, the creation of such a world (and the consequences) are a big part of the setting's plotline Smiley

Heh, Thirteenth Floor type consequences? Tongue (I actually rather liked that movie, poor acting aside.)

Oh, something like Avalon you mean?

Oh, and tell Clayton that I was serious about hooking him up with a copy of such (albeit PAL) if he's still looking for one.

I was toying with the idea of "Macho Women with Guns" as a one-off sheer cheesecake b-movie session at one point.

Has anyone looked at doing a Mutant Chronicles conversion?

I remember on the old Boards a few people mentioned they like this setting.  But not much was developed in the way of any conversion material, other then maybe discussing good uses for some of the SFA material.

It was a good setting tho, one of my favourites in terms of the background factions.

Mutant Chronicles  is supposed to be very dark and very deadly.  Definately need that list of sproing too.  Though Spirited might not be out of the question for the very heroic heroes.  (Not sure, most veterans of fighting the Dark Legion tend to be sorta unhinged.)

The Shadow Hearts games had an awesome world/setting.

It was the inspiration for my Endless Eternity 2.0 game that got aborted when i started working for best buy.

Dark*Matter also seems like a decent setting for Spycraft - the PDF of the Alternity setting book sells for just under five bucks. Very X-Files in feel, with some dark undercurrents. Might crossover well with Delta Green or with GDW's Dark Conspiracy setting.

The Hoffman Institute stands in well as the Agency I would believe.

*EDIT* Hmmm, I see that Falkus has beaten me to this idea. Smiley
