Why, oh why, do they keep remaking masterpieces???  Undecided
There are plenty of great NEW ideas out there for inspiration for flicks.

*chuckle* keep in mind that with all the changes being mentioned it basically IS a new movie. It's just borrowing a tittle and maybe a couple character names to try (desperately) to draw in more people.

I think the idea of doing remakes is almost vestigial these days. It comes from a time when it was so dificult to get ahold of and watch an old movie that remakes didn't effectively compete with themselves for our time. Now that so much media is available at a snap of the fingers, it makes them a much less powerful idea than they once were.

It's odd for Christians to even consider that. If it's not in the Bible they tend to take a fingers-in-the-ears-eyes-shut-while-screaming approach to history.

Be careful when dipping that wide brush in tar.

I know... and I apologize. It should be "odd for SOME Christians..." I completely forgot that Bro. TornadoApe falls outside that assumption sometimes.

Funnny... It's okay to poke fun of some stereotypes, but others are deemed untouchable.

Its that typical 80/20 rule.

Most(80%) Christians(or pick some other group) are sane, rational people who can have an in depth conversation about religion, beliefs and faith and not get offended or feel like they are being persecuted or something.

It the some(20%) that tends to cause the stereotypes that the rest are painted with.

That being said,  You have to also remember Jesus spent his younger years in Egypt till he was what 14 or so.   I'm sure he was exposed to the Egyptian religions and beliefs as well, who did have a code of ethics that if you read them sounds very familiar.
