That's the soldier  Shocked

Very nice picture but it does look rather evil for a PC.

And what's the race, I see little horns.

Ogre, and not all art needs to be heroic - there's at least a few folks out there who'll play it the other way.  Wink

Now that is some sexy stuff.  I absolutely love the fighter art.  And I gotta admit the old "scantily clad mage type" is a cliche I dig.  If this is an indication of hwo the finished book will look it'll be eye candy as well as crunch.

Curious: is there any possibility of getting this book in Colour?

Color tends to be expensive.   Sad  So maybe.  I would pony up for a limited run color edition though.

The ogre looks a bit bestial, and I'm partial to pointy ears, but the skulls are a nice touch.  From what critter is the skin on his shield?

Not likely. The book was conceived and realized top-to-bottom in B&W, which would make translating it to color... problematic. You'll see what we mean when we preview the interiors. They're... different. Smiley

What would you like it to be? I see a mouthy pech myself.

I was thinking of the user down the hall who appears to smear peanut butter over his keyboard.

That would require the crafty team to produce two completely seperate versions of the book. And colour art would no-doubt require repeat versions of all the art work.

So a lot of work for probably not that much gain.

I was a little worried we weren't going to meet the minimum hawt elf quota required for publication before the wall of fire piece came in Grin.

I am very pleased with what our art buget got us.

Color tends to be expensive.

Color is expensive at multiple stages. Getting the color art usually arround 3-4 times more expensive than black and white, and for a company that was founded by a couple of writers, art is already our biggest expense when preparing a book. The difference in printing costs for color is more on the order of 5 times as expensive.

That is a skinned halfing on his shield.

The soldier has a skinned humanoid on his shield!

I have never seen anything scarier in a fantasy suppliment.  I literally said, "Oh shit."  I would crap myself & run crying in the other direction if a GM ever showed me that picture & told me that's who I was fighting.

I must own this book.  Mastercraft be damned, I must own this book!
