So, we've got the guy on a stretcher in the car, and we're headed to the same village we are headed to before. Express keeps a firmer look out, to see who might be shooting at random cars for no good reason. Other than that, same plan as before. "Lets get to town."

Okay, you hit the mountains, and negotiating the narrow winding trails that can barely be called roads forces you to reduce speed down to painfully slow (unless you'd like to make some Drive checks to hurtle around at speed, with a risk of dropping hundreds of feat on a failure).
It strikes you that this place would be a fortress in the event of an attack, it would be incredibly easy to block the road and even on foot you'd be limited to two or three abreast.

Eventually you arrive at the village, one of the more thriving settlements of the wastelands, a quick estimate of around 300 residents judging by its size and the number of buildings. It's impossible to disguise your approach and a group of what you presume to be either lawmen or militia approach your vehicle, rifles held unthreateningly but ready for trouble.

"Merchants and traders, low on supplies. Looking to stock up and see what sort of supplies are in demand around here." Express eyes the man cautiously. "That and a safe place to stay. Seems things aren't safe out there." he says, not sure if the man can see the wounded figure in the back.

"Keep out of trouble, if any of my men see you with weapons drawn in the village they'll shoot first and work out what's going on later."

"First lets drop off the wounded. Then we'll need to find the girl. I guess the best way will be to canvass the area, though we'll have to try to it in such a way that doesn't draw to much attention. Or we can just look? Anyone got a plan?"

You drop off the wounded man at what passes for a hospital, it seems cleaner than most in the villages you've been through.

A complex Impress or Networking check can put word out that you're looking for work/looking to buy information as desired, 3 challenges to get it spread throughout the village and surrounds, though each success will affect a slice of the village population. The other alternative for this is to do something to get yourself noticed.

"I'm fairly good at buying things like information, so i'll send out the word."

(networking's one of my goodies..+8 - If no one objects, i'll start right on that.)

Looks like there's no objections, I'll let you do the honours with the rolling, each check will take about 2 hours of mingling, so it'll be fairly late in the day when you're done (or you can wait until morning if you prefer).

Accommodation-wise you have the choice of "Greg's Flophouse" which apparently is "Open all hours, with comfortable beds in a richly decorated common room, $5/night" or "Madame Victoria's" who's sign mentions "Pleasurable company by the hour or the night, rooms available for sleeping during quiet periods"
Or there's always the option of sleeping in the car.
