Control: Senior Scribe Pliskin

As you enter the briefing chamber, a small squirrel-faced man looks up at you.
"Ah, agents you've arrived. This mission is of utmost importance, you need to hunt down and err... Silence this lady." An image flickers onto the viewscreen, a red-haired woman wearing glasses appears. She seems to have no real distinguishing marks - a fact that distinguishes her alone. No scars, marks from disease or radiation - she's obviously from a vault.

"Our contacts in one of the remaining untouched vaults has let us know that this woman has escaped, and there's evidence to suggest that she has the location of every vault, weapons cache and supply depot in the country - along with their last known status.  Her vault-psyche profile suggests she'll use this info in any way to grant her an advantage - this situation is obviously not good for us. Our primary advantage is in our advanced technology, another group with similar tech could wipe us from the wasteland."

He coughs and takes a drink of water.

"She was last seen in the village of Drywater, nestled up in the mountains. But that village has resisted our drives for several months and may not be inclined to give info easily. I suggest you visit them under some kind of cover."

He looks around for some kind of response.

Express grimaces slightly at the 'silence her' comment, but then nods in reluctant agreement as the mission is unfolded before him. As the town's name is mentioned, he nods in recognition. He looks around the table to see who is ready to go.
Any c hance to delve into mysteries in raider terrirtory was welcome to him.

Noting the grimace, Pliskin pipes up.

"I mean silence in a literal sense, by all means if you can recruit her, or otherwise ensure her silence without killing her - then do so."

Fix0 It nods, "What do we do if we come upon her selling the information?"

"It's your call. looks like she screwed up the vault computers so they no longer have the info ,but contacts on site say it was pretty complete.
Ideally we want that info, and we want her silenced, though in a pinch one or the other will do & silencing takes priority over the info - we already have the technological advantage, and really can't afford, raiders, mutants or other low-lifes to get hold of this tech."

OOC: What is the ETT to Drywater?  I assume scrap would know, being a scout...

"What sort of cover are you suggesting?," Scrap asks.  "As a tracker, I'd prefer stealth to a disguise.  Do we have any idea what 'er intentions are?"  Scrap wonders out loud who else out there could offer her anything near the reward the Brotherhood would give her for her information.

"What's the current status of Drywater?  I assume they'r a bit... err... unhappy... with the actions of the brotherhood.  Do they have (or are they pursuing) any affiliations with our rivals?"

"One last thing....

...what do we have at our disposal?"

Scrap seems pleased at being given the opportunity to ask 'the question.'

OOC: It's a good 8 hours travel(ish), assuming making a good but not straining pace in a vehicle (averaging aroudn 40mph - road conditions and obstructions make keeping up consistant speeds faster than this fairly difficult, though drive checks with synergy from survival will lower the time)

"I have no idea what cover, my notes on the village from the recruiters are sparse, they don't tend to take reports seriously, but they seem to possess a desire to remain independant and are just about well fortified and armed to maintain it. A score or so of trained milita, armed mostly with hunting rifles and a location difficult to assault - we could take them, but there's nothing there to justify the resources required to do so."

"We tend to find that sending brothers into villages that have shown their kind of resistance to our recruitment is an excercise in futility, they'll expect it to be a trick to recruit them."

Your resources are for a Caliber II mission

OOC: Anything I can add to this? Do I know who/what would  be a canidate for the reward offer? Anything I can add to the information about the area, the people there etc...?
(Mission Equipment: 1 security, 2 cha, access to custom ride by contact)

"I'd also prefer stealth to disguise. At least covert stealth. Not neccesarily sneaking, just not advertising who we are. Once I'm there, I'll want to talk to some people. I've been through there once, though it's been awhile."
Express looks over at Fixit. "My talents are that I travel alot and  know alot of people. The
few I really don't like are dead. The rest are usually willing to help me. I'm pretty good at fitting in wherever we go, but not so good at being truly hidden, or pretending to be someone else.  I've also got a freind that can help us get a better vehicle if it's needed. I'm not sure what else people are providing.

Ratchet walks into the room, face covered in soot, staring blankly at the wall for a second, then twitches a little bit, and says, " sorry I'm late bit of an... accident at the lab, no serious damage and no one was hurt. did i miss anything?"

For mission gear, caliber II healing, Caliber II attack sub dual gadget housing: pen. Cant think of anything better. and a field radio pr2

OOC: Nezmaster, sorry, you flubbed your knowledge check on this one - you vaguely remember the place, but nothing specific

Everyone: If there are no more questions can we have gear picks please - I'd recommend some sort of rugged vehicle, since you'll be in the mountains, armour and weapons never look out of place in Fallout - finally Cover ID's may be useful, though so far the group has expressed a preference for more pure stealth (Cover ID's are considered to be pre-worked histories that can't be easily disputed - usually people who are MIA or who the Brotherhood know are dead)

"Say we do find miss... redhead.  Am I tha only one who sees a bit a viability in bein' able to get'er unconcious and 'negotiate' on our own terms?,"  Scrap interjects.  "I think someone needs ta gain acccess to some sort'a chemical agent for really subduin' her.  Also... she likely to have any hired guns 'round?  With that valuable a info, she has gotta have a bit of a 'preocupation' with security..."

OOC: I'm thinking I'm gonna donate my gear picks to the group for the vehicle... don't remember exactly how that works but I thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

"I'm for capturing her if it's neccesary, but I'd sort of like to see what she's up to first. We have to find out if she's ALREADY sold any info or not too. Definitely be ready to disable her, but once we're close, some info gathering on her recent activities is defintely in order. "
Express looks around to assess the talents of his companions.

"I presume we should travel together. I can stay with the group, or keep up on my own vehicle. I'd sort of prefer the company though. So if we have to ask around for her, what's our cover? Just delivering messages, offering to hire her..or what?"

"The vaults in negotiation - we previously had a deal where we traded limited amounts of technology and assisted them in their efforts to keep themselves isolated.
These events have proved that's not a viable option - if we can't come to a compromise we may need to send in a team to stage a coup - but at the moment we can't get any more info from them, and they won't accept our personell or any other strangers inside."
