Edit Editing to clean it up as a first post advertising a game...

Currently got 4 characters (mostly complete) +2 en-route as far as I can tell. I'm hopefully kicking the game off soon, but I'll leave recruitment open until the end of the week, if we can have at least bare-bones of a character up by then.
If anyone wants to discuss specifics or doesn't have access to some material they need for their character (most probably The Big Score) then let me know and I'm happy to work with you to build a character.

Modern Fantasy/Supernatural Detective Agency
Wierd stuff exists, Elves, Dwarves, Tritons, Dragons and so on... If it's existed in myth, the chances are it either did, does or will exist.
The main world doesn't know about this, the numbers of paranatural are few and many have retreated to the depths of Faerie, those that are encountered are usually dismissed or overlooked, people don't want to know...
Every now and then however, the paranatural does cross over, Goblins come and eat babies, Sirens lure men to their deaths and the wrong people learn the craft of magic. For whatever reason, you've decided that you are the thin line protecting the common populace from the world they don't know...

Character Construction:
Options from both (or future) Origin of the Species books (though Centaur's and anything else that can't reasonably pass for human will be limited in scope)
World on Fire, Bag Full of Guns & Spellbound should all be allowed in their entirity though the WoF factions are not present.
The Stockpile rules from The Big Score are used, mostly because Forum games are already slow and I don't want to have intel phases lasting weeks as people discuss and choose gear.
Contacts will be real NPC's, so detail them, and they will do more than make a single skill roll/ability use.
Skill Caps and Recoil are ignored, except for certain specific rolls (language-dependant skills for example)
The Medicine Focus rules are used, 1 focus per race, and the forte gives a +1 with no further limits required.

Campaign Qualities
Fast Feats
Fast Attributes
Spirited (+2AD, explode on 1, 1 type higher)
High Magic
Stockpile

There is a Character template further down, please use it as I really don't like spending ages trying to work out a character sheet while I'm trying to GC.

Characters
Alexander Nieulor (Tenebrae) - Elf Blooded Channeller/Technician
Charlie "Rattrap" Lason (Foproy) - Pech Intruder
Caoimhe Cathal Ó hÓisín Giolla Macha (Krensky) - Elven Pointman
Simon "White Knight" Knight (NezMaster) - Human Cop

Waiting For...
Mister Anderson
MilitiaJim

Anyone else interested let me know, I want to start this properly sooner rather than later.  There's no reason additional characters can't be worked in later though I'd prefer not to do it mid-mission.

I'd be interested, depending on the regularity/committment required. Perhaps an Human, Elven or Orcish Channeler?

I'm thinking more Urban Arcana. Although I always did love Shadowrun.

Could be fun. What about homebrewed species?

And would Practice Makes Perfect and the class Previews both in the downloads and here on the boards be fair game?

Practice Makes Perfect is fine, Preview Classes (presuming you mean Thug & Lawman) are fine.

Homebrewed species I'll take a look at.

Urban Arcana is somewhat close, cross that with Dresden files and you'll be on the right track.

Qualities: Fast Feats (primarily so those taking species feats can do so without it being the sum total of their character), High Magic (obviously - otherwise there'd be no point mentioning Spellbound).
Also the one that grants bonus/bigger AD, who's name eludes me at the moment.

I'm ignoring Skill Caps & Recoil.

Other planes do exist (notably Faerie) and these will have thier own set of qualities, you'll usually be notified of these during the intel phase if the sojourn is expected...

I'm going to do some fairly strict timing rules as I've a few games in other places fall apart on me (and going by other threads seems to be theme here too). At a bare minimum I will update once a week - hopefully faster provided people are having an input.

Combat I'll have to work out the specifics as when combat breaks out we risk slowing down to a 5 minute battle taking 12 weeks to complete.
I'll probably work it so that once combat breaks out I speed up GC posts (once/day?) and rely on players to state actions in advance (using plenty of If...Then...Else... statements if necessary) and me guessing what people are doing... But if any suggestions are forthcoming I'm willing to listen.

I intend this game to be light-hearted, and I'm not taking it too seriously or putting too much long-term planning into it.

Some fiddling is needed, but I'm thinking of a Elf Gunslinger Pointman moving to Sweeper.

I'm in. I was just saying I'd like to try playing a forum game again (on another thread)

No idea what though.

I'll probably play a human. The races book is at home though, so i'll skim trhough it, but off the top of my head for the 45 seconds i've been thinking about this.

Will this be a city based game, or more mobile?

I've got about 7 ideas spinning around, no one more upfront than another. I'll keep reading and chime in when I've got a better idea what I want to do.

I'd be interested if there's room. Perhaps an Orc Thug, though that's just an idea off the top of my head.

Hmm, typed a reply to this then realised I'm logged in under my brothers account...

So attempt 2:
City Based - though character selection can change this - if the game suvives to higher levels the area of operations will expand.

Will be allowing upto about 10 players, thoug in the case of such a large number you'll get an intel and then be expected to divide into at least 2 teams to follow-up leads (with seperate forum threads)

Medicine will be as focus skill, though somewhat broader catagories:
Humanoid, Fay, Quadruped-Humanoid cover all the PC races, though other options (undead) will be available should someone want to...
Individual races are fortes so Humanoid (Human) gives you no penalty to Humanoids in general but +1 with humans...
I may have to think on this and clarify later but it'll do as a placeholder...
