Is there an "Official" Spycraft Day?  Just was wondering.  If not, would someone from Crafty like to pull a date out of their big bag of tricks and come up with one?  Wink

There isn't one that I know of, nor do I have any immediate ideas for one. Anyone else? Maybe a time of year when people are playing a lot, or...?

What's this for?

I do believe Trigger is going off of WoTC's "World AD&D Day".  D&D has like.. one day.. I think it's march.. that they decry World D&D day.

It's actually June 7th for D&D.  Yes, I was just wondering if there was something from back in the day of L-Spy or something that could united some more gamers together is all. Cheesy

Theres nothing better than to travel long distances to play with other gamers for a 16-hour marathon of Spycraft! Grin

It may be a bit short notice, but I vote for May 28.

Ian Fleming's birthday.

If there is no real official day, (not that we need one either  Wink ) some ideas or a poll on what day it could be would be interesting.

Ian Fleming's Birthday is a neat idea. Feel free to put a poll, though. Could be an interesting exercise. Smiley

What kind of poll...

There are all kinds of questions....

Should we have a special day... If so, what does that mean? How should we celebrate it?

Picking a date would be rather pointless if there's nothing to go along with it.

What do you think should go along with it?

I think it should have to be something Crafty related for sure or something within the company.  Tied to origination date or other special date?  Celebrate it by playing Spycraft campaign specifically on that day?  Could always create a small mock mission once a year for gamers to play on written by whomever?  Stuff like that.

Spend the day strangling communists with their own intestines before drinking lots of liquor and beer.  (Ok, that's the way I think every holiday should be celebrated, but that's not the point.)

The drinking can be mixed with Spycraft too.  (Prolly a bad idea to be rolling dice while you're sneaking up on communists.)

We could (should) possibly honor some performer (actor or otherwise), genre writer, director, etc. or even a "real life" spy (i.e. Natalie Plame) with some sort of Crafty award. Honoring their contribution to the espionage genre and for giving us hours of enjoyment and inspiration. In the case of a real life spy, honoring their  commitment to protecting their respective country.

If it's done right, it'll help give Crafty Games a little publicity and perhaps some free press. (Geez... I've been in the newspaper business too long...)

Ian Fleming's birthday would be a good one, or perhaps the 'official' formation of Crafty Games, alternatively when the new site with functional message-board went live :-)
I'd hesitate with celebrating a real-life spy as due to their nature if may exclude certain nations...

I love the whole "Awards" idea from ThunderMonkey and a little push in the limelight for Crafty was where I was going with the whole "Official" Spycraft day to start.  I do like Ian Flemming b-day choice, but I think I would stick to something focused on Crafty more and celebrating their achievements with taking on and continueing Spycraft, so I guess I would lean more towards a "Crafty" date over Ian's. Boy how do you guys rate CraftyWink

What are the relevant dates relating to Crafty?  When was the company incorporated?  When did it sign the papers to get the Spycraft brand?  When did the first LSpy adventure go live?  When did LSpy actually end?  When did 2.0 release to the world?
