I think this sounds perfect for an "Official" Spycraft Day.

"Official" Spycraft Day - March 20th
Honoring, The Day Of The Bullet

What does everyone think of putting this into motion?

I second this motion.

Of course I'm the one that tabled it in the first place, but what the hell...

EDIT: Oh, and using the CCG cover as a poster kicks ass.

I like the idea.

And, oddly, it's both World Storytelling Day and the Feast of St. Cuthbert. *Shrug*

What does Crafty think about this?

We're good with an annual Crafty Day in theory but we're not sure what to do with it yet. What happens? Who makes it happen? What's the purpose?

To us the primarily goal would be to raise awareness and get people playing, but there are questions. Is the Spycraft community large enough to make some noise with this (a merely "blip-worthy" promotion can sometimes do more damage than good)? Can it be made cool enough to warrant the effort put into it?

Remember that our resources are slim and we have to devote them mostly to production, so we choose our promotions wisely. What kind of involvement would be required from us to make this work?

In short, it's a long ways from anything resembling a plan. Smiley

I was gonna ask and then I got it. Let's put that suggestion on the backburner for now, shall we? While I appreciate the sentiment I'd rather not have DHS raiding our houses.  Tongue

I was thinking a Crafty day series of adventures. One shots for the Day with one mission/adventure created for each hardbound book so an espionage mission for certain.

There would be a FantasyCraft mission, a 10KB adventure, and maybe something else. This could evolve into a Crafty weekend even. The only question on the FC one is whether or not it would affect Wyrmstone at any XP gained there.

Someone else would have to produce them but if they did and they were good we'd be happy to promote them.

I was thinking of just establishing a "Special" day for everyone that supports Crafty and Spycraft, to possibly crack open a book and play their own mission, or get more people that have not played the Spycraft line before, a chance to see what it is all about.

Sometimes, it's easier for someone to get up the courage to promote something they like, when there is something like a "Official" day to do it.  There doesn't have to be any missions, adventures or campaigns written, or legal actions looked at, taken or not taken for this to happen.  Crafty doesn't really have to support it either way as well.

I didn't mean for this to get out of hand, just was wondering if there could be one "Special" day named throughout the year that I would gather my friends up and play a game of Spycraft or show others at my local gaming store what it is to immerse yourself into the world of Spycraft.

I'm with you Trigger.  You describe precisely the vibe I had gotten from the original suggestion.  Let's just unofficially call March 20th "The Day of the Bullet" and everybody unofficially try and host a game that day (or on a day that's close).  If somebody wants to write something and post it to the forums, then cool.  If not, use what you've got.
